Ahhh this is the boxing scene I remember. Pac-tards and flo - mos. Dude has a good win against a guy that is not the #1 welter after layoff and obvious poor showing in his first fight post injury. This isn't to downplay Pacs win but let's wait until he beats Crawford and/ or Thurman. Right now there is no clear #1 at welter. They all must battle.

If you wanna say Thurman was the best WW resume wise, sure. If you say he was the best WW at the time of the fight, I think most would disagree.

2 years ago, Thurman was the man at WW but times have changed. He's no slouch but he'd be an underdog against Spence and Bud going in.

Pac is a beast and a legend but at this point he's the 3rd best guy at 147

Thurman was never the ring champ

The last ring champ was floyd

Thurman was never ring lineal or any other lineal at 147

He wasn't ranked #1 when pac fought him either

So your entire opinion is based on an incorrect assumption

Thurman is not the best. He struggled with Lopez who Crawford or Spence would quickly and easily KO. Brook beat Porter in the states. Brook was still a good welterweight when Spence KOed him. Mikey was a top pfp guy and a 140 pound champion who easily beat top 10 welterweight Broner. Crawford beat Horn much easier than Pacquiao beat Horn. Spence is the best welterweight. Crawford is the 2nd best, Manny is the 3rd best and Thurman is the 4th best.

LM was losing that title fight to a complete nobody before landing one miracle shot. He won that WBA title after fighting ONE welterweight. Two fights before he won the title, he was knocked out by Victor Postal, who’s now a gatekeeper at 140.

            Matthysse was shot.

Broner is 1-2-1 since 2017. He should be 0-4 because everyone thought he lost to Granados and Vargas. Even if you think he deserved the split decision over Granados, that’s a guy who was 18-4-2 at the time.

            Broner sucks.

Thurman was out for two years and nearly got KTFO by Josesito Lopez.

            Thurman is shot.

Broner is great when it suits someone's agenda and a lot of people though he'd give Manny a tough test. (he didn't)

Thurman was as sharp as he gets and was the real WW champ. I didn't think I had to really debate his status but I guess for some I do need to.

            Next.

Thurman wasn’t the real #1 it was Manny himself and it was taken by Horn because he got the ‘W’ against him. Crawford took it by beating Horn that’s why he should be #1. Thurman is the #2 guy, Manny took it from him last weekend. Spence is the #3 guy because he took that ranking from beating Brook. You take that ranking by beating the man in that ranking unless you face one another.

Ok, honest opinion and I respect that but who have Spence or Crawford beat to establish them as being better than Thurman, even now?

He was bar none the best WW and the most likely fact that Spence and Crawford would beat him is irrelevant. This is a ranking, not the mythical P4P opinion we're talking about.

But my point is, it doesn't work like that just beating Amir Khan and Mikey Garcia. They need to fight Thurman and beat him like Manny did to get that spot so the ranking is not really fair.
