Comments Thread For: Whyte on WBC Promise: A Lot Gets Said But Not Much Gets Done

Even with another win and a renewed promise from a sanctioning body that has strung him along for nearly two years, Dillian Whyte remains skeptical that a title shot is in his future. "We'll see," Whyte dismissively stated of the prospects of a title shot versus unbeaten Deontay Wilder materializing anytime soon.

      1) Since when did the champion dictate who you need to fight in order to get a shot at the title?

      2) Correct he got beat by AJ but has bounced back from that.

      3) Almost KO'd.. so what, 'Almost' doesn't quite cut it, the fact he won is all that matters.

If the fight happens it's a good fight, legs just see if Wilder can get past Ortiz without help this time around.

Whyte is a *****ing joke. The fight won't even be competitive, he'll get sparked out in less than 3 rounds.

Wilder has never beaten a prime, hungry top contender like Whyte and I don't believe he ever will. Haymon and the corrupt WBC will find a way to protect their paper champion from Dillian.

Pity Wilder doesn't have the same belief as you. He turned down a career high offer to face Whyte.

AJ gets sparked and now Whyte is the new UK standard bearer. Everybody is ducking Whyte according to the BBC. News flash, everybody is ducking Hearn and his home built, protected, robot factory. You see how Hearn has Andy tied in knots with his one way contracts.

Your allegations are unfounded and false Jake Donovan.

Not one Journalist ever mentions the efforts made by Mr. Mauricio Suliaman and the World Boxing Council to position Whyte into a mandatory position: The WBC ordered Dillian Whyte, Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury to face-off in final elimination for the mandatory position for Deontay Wilder's WBC HW championship ; Whyte refused to face Luis Ortiz and coward Gypsy Tyson Fury ducked Whyte to face Tom Schwarz.

I think its very unprofessional to leave out context, and slam Mr. presidente Suliaman, when in reality its been Matchroom that has benefited from favorable circumstances and steered Dillian into this mandatory position by virtually handpicking their opponent in Oscar Rivas.

Dillian Whyte, Matchroom and Eddie Hearn are no victims. Don't con the public!

Hearn before AJ v Andy, to Andy. Fight for peanuts now, and I'll make you rich later. Hearn to Andy after, fight for peanuts and in the UK, and you have to fight Whyte too if you want to get paid.

Dillian is right. Not much gets done, like him being willing to accept the fights offered to him that would have made him the mandatory long ago instead of a few days ago. Whyte is a KO waiting to happen and he will likely get beat before he gets his mandatory shot unless he is matched very carefully as he has been. That said I hope Wilder goes ahead and works out a deal where the winner between himself and Ortiz fight Dillian Whyte next unless the Undisputed fight is next. Let Tyson Fury fight Pulev in a Caveman vs Neanderthal Matchup in the interim since he declined the Wilder rematch.
