I dont respect Berchelt. I remember Donaire making the "boring" excuse to downplay fighting Rigo. Didnt stop Rigo from beating him and swelling that eye shut.

Fighters will say anything to boost themselves especially to a fan.

Herring claiming Berchelt dont want to face him due to his style. And how would he know that?

Berchelt got bigger fishes to fry bruh. Beating Herring results in very little reward and it’s not worth the trouble.

Realistically what bigger fights are there out there for Berchelt?

Oscar Valdez. Inevitably he's gonna move up in weight and it's an easy fight to make since both are Top Rank and Valdez has meaningful fights as opposed to Herring.

Until that happens, if it happens at all, what are some realistic big fights?

Are you implying that Berchelt should fight Herring next?

Yes. Berchelt fought before Herring but Herring is about to fight again against his mandatory. That's the date they could've fought. Why not unify?

Obviously I can't speak for Berchelt but my guess is that to him it's a meaningless fight since before Ito Herring hasn't had any significant wins. Berchelt is only interested in bigger fights. Herring is not a big name on his resume.

Herring is the WBO champion. It's a unification. If Ito would've won I guarantee you Berchelt would be fighting Ito.

Oh no question. Ito was the betting favorite that night. Herring showed he's a decent boxer and while I get it's a unification perhaps for Berchelt he's not an interesting opponent since a win over Herring isn't making a big statement. Think about it. What does every fighter want? To prove they are the best in the sport
