DAZN isn't in full control though.

It is proven without Canelo, they REALLY struggle. Dude accounts for majority of the subscribers. So what does DAZN do if he sits out a year and they lose their subscribers? Then what? I mean as expected, they are losing a lot of money in the early going....But imagine if they lose at least half their subscriber base? Then what?

Lmao good luck with that DAZN, Canelo will do what Canelo wants. Watch Canelo fight Kovalev or Smith in May

Without Canelo DAZN will FAIL MISERABLY. They need to be careful with the king

They definitely made it a point for him to get Canelo early on in the deal. I don't know if they forced him per se, but they made it known that they were pushing for that fight.

The difference is that Mayweather would get upside on PPV revenue. Canelo can't get that type of upside and can only get what DAZN gives him. So they can say if you fight GGG, we will pay you 55M, but if you fight fighter X, you will only get 30M. Something like that. They are going beyond that though. They are flat out disapproving opponents and forcing him to take the GGG fight.

True, the thing is who else is there for Canelo to fight that are big fights though? It’s either GGG or Kovalev at this point. The Andrade fight would be good too since it would be to unify the titles but no one knows who Andrade is though. The Charlo fight is also never going to happen as long as he’s with Haymon. What other fights could Canelo have that would help DAZN get a lot more subs?

you can't be serious? lol If they were in control he would be fighting GGG in sept. Is that happening? Nope. They have now moved the bar back multiple times and in a standoff Canelo flexed his muscles and put them on time out. Now they are approving a fight with Dervy as a last ditch effort to avoid Canelo telling them I won't fight until dec which is horrible for their business. canelo has the leverage he only fights twice a year anyway he get's paid the same if he fight in Sept or Oct or Nov or Dec. But for DAZN they lose millions in subscription revenue the longer Canelo goes from May without fighting.

They told him you have to fight GGG in sept then moved on and said ok you want to fight Kovalev but if that fight falls apart you have to fight GGG in sept. Canelo said nope gave them the finger and said nope I will sit and wait until Dec and deny you a sept fight then how you like that. And now DAZN scrambling saying ok fight who you want please don't wait until dec. They blinked first and have proven they can't tell Canelo what to do. What people don't get is if Canelo don't fight it hurts DAZN they launched in the US and in Boxing off his name. He is carrying their subscriptions he don't fight he takes his subscribers with him. It went from idiots saying DAZN is the boss they will make him fight GGG in Sept to now Canelo get's his way and they are on their knees begging him to pinky promise that he will fight GGG next year LMAO

I think they should let Canelo defend his title. Canelo just refuses to fight GGG so let him have a good fight soon and try to keep his belt. Trying to stop him from defending his belt won't make him fight GGG anyway so why bother. I would like to see the fight between Canelo and Dervy. Dervy can punch and he hurt Jacobs and held Jacobs to a split decision. He won't run from Canelo so it should be a slug out.
