Objective fan who regularly picked against both Floyd and Pacquiao.
Pac's career accomplishments surpass Floyd's. Think about both careers from start to finish, the quality of competition, the asterisks. Who fought everyone and who fought who he wanted to?
Vinny Pazienza is not a greater fighter than Roberto Duran, Hector Camacho is not greater than SRL. Joe Smith is not greater than Bernard Hopkins. Floyd Mayweather is not greater than Pacquiao.Comment

The sport is BOXING, is it not? What is it with you people and this better fighter nonsense? Manny's fighting techniques allowed him to get put to sleep. I am a BOXING fan first, and a Floyd/Pacman fan second.
Anyone with logic can tell you that STYLES make fights, and Keith Thurman allowed himself to get caught up in the mix with Pacquiao when he should have boxed him the whole fight like he did the second half the fight.
We discuss who's greater....I think the author adequately and matter-of-factly laid out WHY Mayweather is the greater of the two.
If you think for a second that Floyd wouldn't school Thurman, you're sadly mistaking. Floyd has and will always have the ability to dictate the pace of fights. The ONLY FIGHTER to force Floyd into a different type of fight, was Marcos Maidana the first time around. PERIODComment

This dude went from looking like horses--- against broner to superman against Thurman after one training camp. I WONDER WHY? OH **** WAIT, WHAT? YOU MEAN THERE WAS NO TESTING WHATSOEVER??!!! WHAT A COINCIDENCE!!!!
Those power pellets get you far in boxing. All these cheating a$$ pu$$ies in the sport keep getting rewarded and the sports becoming more like a parody of itself everyday. It's like watching reality tv- high school drama, cheaters, frauds and divas. I forgot to mention the s----y infrastructure thats designed to keep the best fights from happening. Oh, and tons of crappy articles like this one. Good thing I always keep my barf bag handy.
Awesome comment dude, first of all. You hit the nail on the head. Now everyone knows Mayweather is way better than pac man hands down, and how is it that pacmans miraculous knockout streak came to an end once Floyd called for the random tests and why did he not want to do the tests? Why was it such a focal point in the process of making the fight. Pac man didn't enter their fight with a torn shoulder, Floyd hit him in the shoulder with a check left hook that would rival the one he hit Hatton with (yes I know you remember that one) and Pac man was writhing in pain. And don't get me started about the 4th Marquez fightComment

Good article but there’s one major point you missed Pac’s Win Saturday actually elevates Floyd even higher! Every time Pac or Canelo win high level fights it tells the fair minded fans, fighters, trainers, and media, just how extra special Floyd is!
Side note I fully congratulate Pac on his when, but I also believe he is on PEDS the testing done for last weekends fight only raises doubts!Comment

Floyd and Manny are in similar company. Its arbitrary how people rate them so long as they acknowledge both are about as good as the other.
Hypothetical fights mean nothing, but I dont see how Thurman of this past Saturday beats Floyd of Berto or McGregor. Then again that fight wouldve never happened because Thurman had no media behind him in 2015/2016.Comment

In my humble, unimportant opinion this is not that hard of a conversation, and there is not a huge hurdle to clear here. I just feel there is so much "angst" left over from Manny and Floyd not fighting earlier that people still feel there is an argument to be had.
Simply put: Mayweather is the better boxer. He is more balanced, better in skills overall, and is technical marvel. He just improved something every time out and adjusted to what his opponent did so much better than Manny ever could dream of doing. He is a polished machine in the ring, and there are only a few from his generation that are close.
But Pacquiao has the better overall body of work. I get that early Floyd dodged no one, but the back half of his career was a textbook example of risk management. Manny continues to fight top 15 talent. He continues to take risks. He continues to fight in opponents backyards. His record is dotted with some easy victories over unworthy opponents, sure. and a few times he should not have lost, but that happens when you push yourself. Floyd beat Manny. To anyone still debating that, get over it. But honestly, does that really make a bit a difference in his resume? No, not really, because he continues to add to it.Comment
