I don't think so. Well I mean it'd be shut out like Mayweather v Marquez. Other than that I don't see a prime Floyd stopping him. We'd have to assume Garcia would come in with the same strategy. Garcia is too careful and methodical to walk into a check hook with his arms down. Or he at least wouldn't exhaust himself and drown in deep water. If Floyd couldn't stop Boldamir, Corley or Castillo then I doubt he'd put Garcia away. If Floyd really wants to stop Garcia he probably could like Gatti. But that's not his style nor did he imploy that against the guys I just listed.

      • This fight and Manny's next fights will prove to boxing historians that the catchweights and age of his past opponents doesn't really matter.

Manny Pacquiao dropped a true undefeated young welterweight champion in the first round right before our eyes.

It really is about skill and technique.

        • Pac shouldn't fight spence he's best of era already.. Pac s proved he can still do it being oldest ww champ ever and Floyd fans just make excuses.
Floyd should play catch up to Pac and fight nel o at 160. Pac did the impossible now it's clouds turn

Conversely, Manny will engage and take risks. This sets him up for counters. He no longer has the legs to use movement for the entire fight. If he lays on the ropes like he did against Thurman, Spence will bust him up to the body and fold him in half before round 5. Spence will use that stiff jab to set up everything else. It would be brutal.
Your scenario can be true, but like you said Pac only has 5 rounds of youth left in him. What if that 5 rounds was magical enough for Pac to turn Spence and dazzle him with speed and loaded punches. IF Pac can a vintage performance in those 5 rounds. Pac only need one round in the second half to have a draw with Spence which in itself is already an achievement at age 41 (next yr) And one more round is feasible enough for Pac to win so yeah.. This can be a winnable fight for Pac. Pac can lose don't get me wrong, but looks like if Pac can stand for 12 rounds he can win by points. Or if luck was in his side. Pac's power in 5 rounds can KO Spence.

            • Spence is a bridge too far and Crawford too, but I think against the rest Manny prob beats them all.

I don't know, bro. I ran into another discussion about this not soon after I posted this, funny enough. Seems, like you said, that people are saying they've seen it listed as 70 and 74.

Someone is going to have to ask him. lol. Very strange.

                • Pac too old for Spence/Crawford.

Pac can fight both Garcias, Porter and then retire. No need to take on those kind of risk now. He's earned the right to be selective at this point in his career or even move down in weight to 140 if he wants to extend his career a bit longer.

                  • Spence is like Margarito with Cotto skills and fundamentals. He will wear you down and can one-punch KO those who have lesser chin. I've been watching Pacquiao since his 6th fight. This guy is a bad style for him at any point in his career. The only version of Pacquiao who can beat Spence is the one who beat Dela Hoya where he played the perfect gameplan, in and out try to win on points. This version of Pacquiao won't be able to do it because his reflexes are not elite anymore. You're a legend already Manny, time to retire, Canastota is waiting.

I agree. He chose Thurman over Spence because the former was the easier fight. He didn't have to justify not fighting Crawford, now that he's no longer with Top Rank. Anyway, it's clear to me that Spence and Crawford are the top dogs at WW. That's the fight I really want.
