Golovkin didn't want to fight a guy who would be favored at 168 and Ward did not want to fight a dangerous challenger at 164. It was mostly a war of words and free press.

      the cool story bro:

Golovkin Aims High: Would Fight Ward at 168 and Canelo at 154

      the truth:

      Jul 23, 2015
"Golovkin is ready to fight Andre Ward..... but only if they meet halfway at a catch-weight of 164-pounds......"
WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin is ready to fight Andre Ward, the ruler at 168-pounds - but only if they meet halfway at a catch-weight of 164-pounds. Ward has not weighed any lower than 166 since 2006 and won't be able, under any circumstances, to get down to 164. Last month, Ward returned for the first time since November 2013 and stopped Paul Smith in nine rounds. That fight took place 172-pounds.

Roc Nation: GGG's Team Turned Down Ward in 36 Minutes
Over the last few weeks, a lot has been said and a lot has been written with respect to a potential fight between WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs). As the finishing touches were being made to Golovkin's October 17th unification with IBF champion David Lemieux - Ward's promoter, Roc Nation Sports Chief Operating Officer David Itskowitch, emailed an official offer to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.

if you guys kept it real about Bullshltkin, you would not get kicked around so much

      is... " avoid "... a better word for you than... " duck "... ?

PLENTY of Golovkin fans have admitted that he avoided Ward

My bad. I thought you were the other guy. Can’t keep track of all you Fanbois but you calling Nelo a Diva and not GGG who is in reality acting like one is dumb as***. And don’t say no. Cuz his actions show it. Trying to dictate terms like where the fight should take place. Also him and his Fanbois (you) Thinking that Beating a tomato can warrants him a fight with Cinnamon. Please. The SuperStar is Nelo not him. So just be honest and say you want the 3rd fight ASAP because you don’t want GGG to risk loosing to any of the other top MW before he gets one last payday. Then maybe just maybe if your upfront wit it people will show some respect towards you Fanbois.

You mean how Cotto literally payed money to not fight GGG and chose Cheatnelo instead?
            That's a fact.

You Fanbois are ridiculous The earliest date that Canelo and GGG could of fought was May 5th 2016. Right after Alvarez beat Cotto to become the WBC lineal 160lb champion. Golovkin was 34 yo. The fight was finally made the following year on Sept 2017. At the time GGG was 35 and still considered to be in his prime and a top 3 p4p fighter. Ranked #1 by most. So correct me if I’m wrong. Your telling me Golovkin went from being a top p4p fighter in his prime to a shot fighter within a years time? Now what your implying by saying he’s 37 yo is that he’s old. So why you bittching for a 3rd fight. It’s not Nelos fault he was born 10 year after Lovkin. So did you want Nelo to fight him when he was 18yo :Lol1: Gtfoh

No, idiot. They could have fought earlier.
Canelo Alvarez vacated his alphabet title Wednesday, saying he hopes his team can finalize a deal for a fight with Gennady Golovkin with the WBC's "artificial deadlines" out of the way.

But your little girl vacated. Like a little bïtch.

First GGG turned down the fight at 154 lbs. Then the WBC was trying to pressure Canelo into the fight and that wasn’t gonna happen. look at what happened. The WBC is bending over backwards to please Nelo. It’s not like he Vacated his belt to go fight Vanes instead of Derev

The problem with most GGG fans is casualism and hate because their he-man figurines ain't getting the fights they want.

Just like GGG, Canelo has choices who he wants to fight, and an org ain't gonna dictate, just like GGG and Loeffler giving the finger to DiBella and Haymon for the IBF Devren/Vanes.

Canelo had the WBC strap. The WBC ALLOWED Canelo a voluntary defense just like Cotto after he won the WBC...

Now if GGG was in fact a ''small Middleweight'' as Loeffler claimed for years or that ''154-168 is easy for me..'' (ESNEWS 2011), then why in the hell didn'T GGG campaign at 154 and easily CRUISE to any mando title in those divisions? Guess who held the WBC and WBA at the same time GGG clowned with his remarks? MAYWEATHER!!!

''For Mayweather...or if someone makes financial sense...then 154...'' Abel Sanchez

Canelo: ''I'll fight GGG at 155...he wants to get it...'' (2015)

Why didn't Team GGG take the BIGGEST FIGHTS in boxing at 154-155 since 2011? Because 154 is so easy right?

GGG fans are the most cowardist in the sport. These are the type of men that flee the scene if ever your best friend needs help in a street fight. That's the reality.
