WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin is ready to fight Andre Ward, the ruler at 168-pounds - but only if they meet halfway at a catch-weight of 164-pounds.

Ward has not weighed any lower than 166 since 2006 and won't be able, under any circumstances, to get down to 164. Last month, Ward returned for the first time since November 2013 and stopped Paul Smith in nine rounds. That fight took place 172-pounds.

Before considering a serious move to light heavyweight, Ward would like to face Golovkin.

Golovkin and his team are receiving a lot of criticism as of late, because they were willing to fight both Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Carl Froch at the full super middleweight limit of 168. But in Ward's case, they are requested a middle ground on the weight clause.

Golovkin believes his current standing in the sport is a bit better than that of Ward, and because of that he wants a 50-50 deal across the board with the money, weight and all other related terms.

"He's great boxer. It's very interesting for us - not just for us but for everybody. I want 50-50. He wants to fight with me. Absolutely I'm ready. I want fight with him. His situation, he [was] not boxing for like two years. His situation is not perfect for this time. My situation is much better. [I want] 50-50 money, 50-50 weight, 50-50 situation. This is logic, 50-50," Golovkin told Max Kellerman on Sports Nation.
