Golovkin would not be favored to beat Ward at 168 there is no way around that. Did he duck Ward. I don't think so. Ward called him out not the other way around. Ward would not cut weight for Golovkin to make the fight happen. So the fight did not get made. Golovkin didn't want to fight a guy who would be favored at 168 and Ward did not want to fight a dangerous challenger at 164. It was mostly a war of words and free press.

The fight was finally made the following year on Sept 2017. At the time GGG was 35 and still considered to be in his prime and a top 3 p4p fighter. Ranked #1 by most. So correct me if I’m wrong. Your telling me Golovkin went from being a top p4p fighter in his prime to a shot fighter within a years time? Now what your implying by saying he’s 37 yo is that he’s old. The problem with most GGG fans is casualism and hate because their he-man figurines ain't getting the fights they want.

Canelo had the WBC strap. The WBC ALLOWED Canelo a voluntary defense just like Cotto after he won the WBC...
