On the last episode of PBC Fight Camp, Thurman was shown to be sleeping every night in a hyperbaric chamber that he bought for his home.

He said he thinks it's going to put him over the top to beat Pacquiao, but Pacquiao is the one looking sharper in camp to me. That 40 year old legend is going to make him look bad, win or lose.

It's the cycle of boxing. Pac did it to Oscar,Oscar to Chavez. Tyson to Holmes, Holmes to Ali, Norris to Leonard. etc. If you stick around too long, you get brought to reality by a young gun. I'm hoping pacs time has come because he and his fans are due for the reality check. The brutal Marquez ko win and the mayweather schooling, and the absurd loss to horn still hasn't deterred their faith.

That's true cornball Thurman but unfortunately your fighting a pacman out of his prime so even if you beat him it means nothing.

I don't think Pac will be able to deal with KTs movement. But then again, KT has a tendency to move too much. Close fight that will depend on who establishes their power. If Pac rocks KT, then it will look like he's running. If KT stands his ground and establishes his right hand, then he tamed Pac. But Pac is never tamed while he is in shape......can't pick one yet.

My comment was towards Keith's comment. Pacquiao is not a large favorite. If Thurman were to win the upset would be not be a big upset or a surprise given Pacquiao's age and where he is in his career. Now if this were 2009 and Thurman beat Pacquiao, then that is something to talk about, that would be a big win.

Thurman however with a loss, will have his elite level career effectively ended at age 30. If he cant beat an old man pacquiao, nobody will take him serious against crawford, or errol spence. the actual class of the welterweight division.
Unless Pac beats them too 😉

You are right, but it feels as if its getting worse nowadays.

I mean JCC was 34 when De La Hoya beat him, and DLH was 35 when Pac beat him. SRL was 35 when he lost to Norris. Although the heavies were older, it feels like they carry primes later.

Still, it feels like fighters today try more often to make their names by waiting til guys are past 35 or even past 40 to get the scalps. Then become a 'legend', as Thurman is claiming.

Too many of these new age young fighters think they can get it easy without putting in the work.

                      Agree.

So is Thurman basing this off Manny's Dela Hoya win?

Pac was already a legend when he beat Barrera, Morales, and Marquez.

                      If we are to compare

Thurman needs to beat Spence and Crawford back to back to be considered LEGENDARY like Manny.

Even he wins against Manny, I don't count it since I also dont count Manny's win against Dela Hoya. Or the other previous young guns beating legends out of their heydays.
