I fully expect this to be a baptism of fire for Yarde and don't think he has any legitimate chance of beating Kovalev, but if by some miracle it happens it will be the worst thing possible for the light heavyweight division because you just know Warren will hold that title hostage in the UK for the next two years milking it for all it's worth with one easy title defence after another.

Sure but as long as you are above the lower weight limit and right at or below the current one then it can be for a title. The solution is to not accept the clause but if it is a big money offer a lot of dudes take the payday. Can't blame them!
The challenger can't force the champion to fight at a ****ing catch weight..a little shady? Bull ****ing ****. That's just criminal..

That's right. You fight at the true weight limit or you don't fight at all. Good job Kovalev. Problem for Canela is Kovalev has made millions fighting big fights already like 2 against ward so he doesn't have to jump on a big payday with weight clauses like other fighters need to for the money. He has the money

Team Meatballs always wants some kind of ****ty ass advantage.

I guess cheating with drugs isnt enough. They still have to weight drain the **** out of people.

Nobody is forcing anybody. If an offer is made then it is either accepted or rejected. I don't agree with the idea of catchweights but it is what it is. A champion can always decline! Catchweight offers are accepted when there is big money involved. Part of the game!

Obviously Yarde needs a KO to win in Russia. Judges influenced in fancy hotels meals sights shows during downtime by promoter. Same old formula with specter of mob around. No way dec goes yarde

So if it goes the 12 rounds, you don’t think Kovalev has the skill and experience to outbox Yarde in a clear fashion?

                      Yes you can

                      SRL did so against Lalonde

More recent examples include Mayweather having his 154lb titles at stake at 147

Weight classes are only defined by a maximum weight
