edit: disregard this shartpost, this bout im about to talk about happened 11/2018
dave allen vs bracamonte is my current FOTY, but that's judging from damage done and I don't particularly enjoy that match, only watched it the one time live. dave took about five fights wortha damage in ten rounds. But, he posted a bag vid today.....Dude is ready for Price. I like Price too, but I think Allen will keep a short range between them and find Price with the uppercut combinations right up the middle. Dave is gonna spin around and then lead with these power uppercuts, you'll see. He's gonna eat some jabs and crosses but Price doesnt move his head, he uses an AJ high guard well and has good reflexes, but he lacks the head movement to beat Allen because its not in his instinct to fight that way. It's in his instinct to keep a smaller man at bay who respects him, and I don't think Dave will respect him like that. I wouldn't bet on it as I haven't seen a ton of both guys, but I pick Allen by KO in rounds 7-10. Those brutal matches have a value for the purist, to see what mistakes were made in the past and what to potentially avoid to have the same thing happening. You could just tell Braca's whole village was there and he wasn't backin down man, he fought like Chavez did vs Taylor. that was a tough match. But I know you like the craft s tuff - that allan bag vid is nice. he moves around it well and lands a 1,3 in southpaw. thats the type of versatility I'm trainign to do, just fast switch - combos - then switch back and defend in ortho. Even tho Allen is limited compared to other top 20 hws in terms of size, he makes up for this with versatility in stance switching for power shots, and he moves around a guy well, has good instincts... he does another one with his right downward arcing hook for a finisher. he finishes the punch in orthodox, but begins to throw it with his body like a pendulum; in southpaw with a lazy left uppercut left out there while he pivots the hips and puts all the mustard on the right, which at this point is swinging fast at the target in an arc similar to ruiz but more centered of a skyhook, like povetkins kinda but not as perfect as povs.
