Hopefully Canelo and GBP can get out of that contract because it seems like unfair treatment. They are protecting GGG, he can fight who he pleases, doesn’t have to fight any one who has a good chance at beating him.

$35mill a fight is a ton of money, but I don’t think Canelo is the type of fighter that likes getting bossed around. He can call out McGregor for a PPV fight and make $100mill in one fight for instance.
Yer but don't you want Canelo to be fighting tough opponents and tough match ups.
GGG doesn't even need to be brought into the equation.
It's DAZN wanting Canelo to fight good fights.
Nothing wrong with that and definitely no need to split cause DAZN wants to see good match ups.

I think it's kinda pay per fight and proratable depending on opponents. I assume Canelo didn't get paid $35 mil for Fielding nor Golovkin $16 mil for Rolls.

So, if Canelo walks, they don't owe him anything.
I don't have anything to back up what I'm saying but I fully believe GGG and Canelo got paid their monies for the tuneup fights.
I pretty much have no doubt about that.

        And then he fought Jacobs.

And GGG fought Rolls for his first fight, and next he will fight apparently another no hoper.

It’s the principle of the matter.

Canelo can’t defend his IBF belt vs Derevyanchenko because DAZN won’t allow him. That’s a “good matchup”.

Canelo can’t fight a fellow 160 champion, Andrade, because DAZN says that fight is not in the cards yet. That’s another good matchup.

Canelo can’t fight Munguia, a fellow Mexican, on September because DAZN doesn’t want him fighting “easy opponents”, but would allow GGG to fight him.

Meanwhile GGG is allowed to fight whomever he pleases.

It’s just bad form by DAZN. If they were forcing all of their fighters to fight good opponents, and limiting all of them on who they can fight, then that’s fine. But they’re targeting Canelo only.
