Yep. They’re okay with GGG fighting substandard opponents, and even opponents outside of the top 50, and below middleweight, but want Canelo to fight 10 top fighters at 160-175.

Hopefully Canelo and GBP can get out of that contract because it seems like unfair treatment. They are protecting GGG, he can fight who he pleases, doesn’t have to fight any one who has a good chance at beating him.

$35mill a fight is a ton of money, but I don’t think Canelo is the type of fighter that likes getting bossed around. He can call out McGregor for a PPV fight and make $100mill in one fight for instance.

Good points. Now I see why you run DAZN boxing and Skipper posts on internet forums.

It might cost Canelo 100 million just to get out of his contract.

They let Canelo fight Fielding. LOL they didn't give a **** ass that Fielding was hopeless. He had a title and that's all that mattered.

I don't think they gave Canelo or Golovkin all that money all at once.

I think it's kinda pay per fight and proratable depending on opponents. I assume Canelo didn't get paid $35 mil for Fielding nor Golovkin $16 mil for Rolls.

So, if Canelo walks, they don't owe him anything.

“Canelo boss, DAZN my partner” comments by GGG likely angered Canelo

GGG-Canelo makes $100 million probably every time they fight...so I agree DAZN wants that fight, and probably wants it 3 more times...it is a huge money fight and a huge subs fight for them...will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

GGG is close Friends with a Main Shareholder of DAZN so he is somewhat in a position of Power that people seem to be in complete Denial About. Not a Coincidence that DAZN is narrowing their Choices down to GGG or Kovalev...after seeing Mike Coppinger tweet that, it is clear that GGG is going to get his 3rd fight with Canelo

Yeah DAZN needs Canelo more so Canelo does have a say...however it is DAZN Money so they do have the FINAL SAY as to how they want to spend THEIR Money

If they want Canelo vs GGG III then that is what they will get unless Canelo does something crazy like walk away from all that money which I don't see happening

DAZN signed GGG because they want him to fight Canelo a third time, and maybe a fourth and fifth time. That’s all they care about and it’s all GGG cares about. So they partnered up to make sure the Canelo fight(s) happen. GGG isn’t going to fight anyone with a prayer to beat him until he fights Canelo. DAZN is fine with that because they only care about putting him in with Canelo. They don’t care about any other GGG fight that boxing fans would care about. His entire contract is about a third and maybe even more fights with Canelo.

Canelo’s relationship with them is a bit different. Canelo got paid and DAZN wants it’s super fight. He says he might want to unify with Andrade. DAZN says no because it could screw up the GGG fight. He says he wants to fight Munguia and DAZN says no because they don’t want him fighting substandard opponents to delay the third GGG fight. They’ll only approve Kovalev because if Canelo loses that fight, it doesn’t screw up the third GGG fight.

Basically DAZN signed Canelo to broadcast him fighting the biggest opponents. They signed GGG to work with him and ensure he got another shot at Canelo.

It’s a classic partner vs boss relationship. Eat your heart out De La Hoya.
If you honestly think that DAZN is calling Canelo's shot, you're bugging.

That's speculation on my part but a contract has obligations for both sides. 100 million is an exaggeration. Fighters have been sued by their promotors when they try to get out of their contract. This is no different. I think he would have to pay a penalty if he doesn't fulfill the terms of the contract.
