Again, if Canelo fights a low level fight in Sept, this looks even worse l. If he ends up vs andrade, Smith at 168,or a rematch with ggg, then nobody will care much. I'm not big on the Kovalev idea since he's old and 3-3 in his last 6. How this looks will all depend on who Canelo chooses to fight in Sept.
it isn’t canelos fault that the wbc changed their rules. Is it?

Of course a 55-45 split wouldn't be in canelos best interest. Of course he shouldn't have gone to purse bid. But... If he was really serious about making that fight, couldn't he have just negotiated with ggg while he was prepping to fight khan? When the fight with ggg eventually happened, ggg took less than 45%, they obviously negotiated with him during the build up to the Chavez Jr fight because they announced it in the ring immediately afterwards. Why didn't they do that just 1 yr earlier if they really wanted that fight to happen that Sept?

But let's not pretend that Canelo isn't a gifted fighter. If you think he's has bad scorecards go his way or if you think he's been benefitted because he's Mexican then that's on you.
But let's not act like Canelo isn't a great fighter...
I'm not saying he's at fault for being Mexican, it goes to the point that started this debate. I feel Canelo has been entitled in his career and has beneftted more from being Mexican than the hate he's received from being Mexican.

Maybe he really didn't want his shot,.... 🤔🤔
Think about it man. It takes two to make a fight happen...
Why didn't Charlo or Al Haymon reach out to Canelo or Golden Boy promotions about making the fight???
If you or me really want something that we feel we deserve we're gonna speak up on it right???
So why didn't Charlo speak up and demand his mandatory from Golden boy promotions????
do you really doubt that Charlo would want to fight Canelo?? If you offer a Canelo to fight to literally anyone in boxing, they're taking it. You could go to a lightweight and ask him if he'd take a Canelo fight at a catch weight of 169.3 pounds and they'd take it.

the fault mainly lies with the wbc for being punks, but Canelo is partially responsible because he threw a fit last time they tried to get him to face a mandatory. He refused to fight for their belts (real one and those made up ones) and financially they didn't want to mess up their money. So they appeased him. He basically used his status as a money maker to get them to cave to him.

So how did he drop the title??
Did Al Haymon or Charlo try to make the Canelo fight???
They told Charlo and GGG to fight for the #1 spot. GGG refuses. Honestly the winner of that fight would of made it very hard for Canelo to turn down. Instead one fought Rolls while the other fought another bum. Hence we are where we are and Andrade Should be the next fight.

He wanted to fight GGG not once but TWICE! Then was signed up ready to fight Saunders before he popped dirty at the very last minute.

yes charlo and ggg should've fought but.. Charlo was already mandatory, is it fair that he should have to fight a second mandatory after he already fought in an eliminator to become a mandatory? Now forget the fact that he faced a cripple, he followed the long standing rules of the wbc. They basically threw him 2 curve balls to try and push back his right to face the champion. If they felt he needed to do more to earn the mandatory status that's one thing, but they should've went that route from the jump. Not have him become mandatory and theb change up their own rules.

Not really. I think Charlo will fight Canelo if given the opportunity! It's Al Haymon that don't want the fight! It's him and Oscar who's making the fight difficult!
Haymon knows damn well a Canelo-Charlo fight ONLY happens on DAZN. Al Haymon has to protect his interests and that's keeping ALL his fighters on Showtime/Fox.
Maybe he's reluctant to send Charlo to DAZN cause he doesn't have faith in Charlo beating Canelo....
But how you gonna blame ONLY Canelo for the fight not being made??
Blame Charlo for not putting pressure on Al Haymon to make the fight happen.

I agree. Andrade should be next and hopefully he will be.
All unbiased boxing fan's know Canelo still the true WBC champion.
I don't care about any of them piece of shet belts but Canelo still the real WBC champion in my eyes and if he fights Andrade next it'll be for the undisputed Middleweight championship.

if it's Haymon, that's another story but I think 1 fight with Canelo equals 4-5 fights worth of money with anyone else. Not sure why Haymon wouldn't go that route.
