Joshua did not mix it up in the first 2 rounds, he lost the first 2 rounds.
In round 3 is when AJ got tired of being pushed back and decided to let his hands go, He got the knockdown but then learned Ruiz is much faster in close exchanges.
After Joshua got pummeled he went back to moving backwards until around 7,, then he decided to trade again and got stopped.

AJ was doing fine until he got caught with a big counter hook trying to finish. Not to mention he was landing counter hooks and one-twos almost at will throughout the fight. It’s hard to tell a guy to not throw punches when he’s having more trouble missing than he is landing.

That “lay back and don’t get greedy” plan of attack sounds good in theory, but doesn’t always work. Fury made his fight against Wilder a lot closer than it had to be by “not getting greedy.” Pacquiao let Floyd off the hook a couple times “not being greedy.”
