I was referring to them bringing GG on board to fight Canelo, otherwise I don't think they would have bothered with GG. I can see how that reads wrong though because of the way I phrased it so I'll fix it.

I think DAZN has more leverage then many people here think so nah they shouldn't sh^tcan him. Hell even if you didn't have leverage idk that you sh^tcan him cuz he's the biggest name in the game & DAZN needs to get mfers over to their platform while they are still trying to get some major US sports.

And I mean ultimately this Canelo play is nothing. Its $66M a year. If DAZN is gonna win they need to be buying some segment of NFL games for like $1B a year or some partial NBA rights for $200M a year or something f#cking nuts like that. Firing Canelo would be like putting back the raman noodles to try to save money on the steak you bout to buy.

Tend to agree with all of this. Specifically the Munguia sh^t. Its not a fight that many hardcores are gonna be excited over, but it could be a huge fight for DAZN since its a All Mexican war. Might even be great if Munguia got the upset. Then they probably don't gotta pay Canelo as much money, there is a new rivalry & they got a guy who could be the biggest name in the game for awhile & get him for cheap. Gives them more money to spend elsewhere on boxing or other lesser sports.

Is that something they've talked about? I know they did NFL in Canada but I didn't know they had the funding to hang in the US NBA and NFL scene. Would be a major play if they did.

If they drop Canelo they may as well drop boxing. He is boxing on DAZN.

That would be absolute suicide for DAZN.

                Anthony Joshua just lost.

Golovkin is getting massively overpaid and the only thing he has brought to the table so far is Steve Rolls.

Canelo is the only one bringing in any subscriptions. Without him what would attract people to pay for the service???

If they are gonna be viable in the US I think they got to eventually.

They picked up Japanese baseball awhile back & that got them to be a big deal in Japan. I don't think they become a big deal in the US til they got a major sport or two here. And with how they are dividing up rights these days among more platforms then ever I don't think its a crazy thing to suggest they'll acquire them. Its just a matter of when.

I doubt there is any language in the contract that says dazn gets to tell Canelo who to fight. If there was this wouldn’t be an issue.

So dazn will be a good boy and pay Canelo what they owe him and his team will determine who and when he fights.

Gotta agree, we as hardcore fans tend to underestimate the all-Mexican wars on Mexican holidays. I don't remember too many people being excited for Canelo-JCC Jr. but that fight did 1M PPV buys on HBO. Canelo-Munguia may not move Boxing Scene but that probably brings the most subscriptions to DAZN outside of Canelo-Golovkin III.
