Kovalev is dumb for it putting more pressure on his people to make the Canelo fight happen. It would be a career high payday and a very winnable fight on the biggest stage. The clock is ticking. He needs to be trying to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible. Because any fight now, he could step in the ring as a shell of himself and lose to someone that wouldn’t have even made him break a sweat in his prime.

I am not saying this would not be interesting, because it would be. Unlike Garcia moving up to challenge Spence or Rigo attempting to beat Lomachenko, Kovalev is not in his prime so Alvarez could actually be looked as a favorite in this scenario. But as a boxing fan who follows the sport, I have a few 175 bouts I would rather see Kovalev in than an Alvarez tussle.
As for Canelo, I do not care if it is not Trip G again. That is the only fight I am excited for at 160. He can fight whomever he wants. But I want to see Krusher in with the other belt holders in his division more than Alvarez.Comment

Canelo is bitchmade. He rather fight a shopworn, past his prime Sergei Kovalev in December rather than challenging Gennady Golovkin.
He knows he can't beat GGG and got away with two gift decisions against him. In my judgement, he is the personification of a punk bitch.
He is not as brave as he claim he is. I thought he said "We Mexicans don't fuck around. We will fight anybody". Well GGG is calling him out now and he is ducking him.Comment

All it takes is one punch and Kovalev has seen better days. Is Yarde another hypejob? The brits have some excellent lighter weight guys but they always seem to overrate their bigger guys. Canelo should fight his mando in Charlo for FULL, REAL,100%, SUPER etc WBC belt or unify with Andrade, fighting Javez jr, Fielding, Kova etc at catchweights and rehydration clauses has nothing to do with "chasing greatness"

Good post. Charlo or Andrade next! Kovalev/Yarde with the winner taking on either Gvozdyk, Bivol, or Beterbiev. The fans want the best fights. These current promoters have to realize that one loss does not make or break a guy. Many hall of famers have multiple losses on their records!
