They over paid 3G. Canelo with proper promotion does similar numbers with Smith, andrade or charlo... how many of 3G last 8 opponents came up in weight? He was king in a weak division during a weak era.
If DAZN needs to apply pressure to someone it's Golovkin.
They can't say "GGG shouldn't fight Andrade because he might lose!" What kind of crap is that?
Their standards for GGG should be as high as Joshua's and Canelo's standards! NO LESS! Do you think Frank Warren would let Saunders fight GGG on DAZN? I would love that fight @ 168!
All this writing to say nothing, like thinking outloud, a conclusion everyone already has thought of, what a waste of a misleading headline without any facts or words straight from Canelo or Golden Boy or DAZN or GGG or anyone important. Even a AI artificial intelligence could do your job better.
He made more against Floyd than one GGG fight. Combined he made more. But the one Floyd fight made him more than any one GGG fight. That's why I said against the right fighter. He also did over a million against Chavez Jr. His lowest selling PPV almost doubles GGG's 2 PPV's without Canelo.
"Against the right fighter" is the key phrase there. That's exactly why there must be a financial penalty clause in Canelo's contract
And you need to stop thinking about Canelo being a bigger PPV draw than GGG. That's irrelevant in the present context. What's relevant now is how many subscribers DAZN think they will attract against each other.
I had it 6-6 the first time & 7-5 GGG the 2nd time (won money on Canelo doe lol). Either way its super close between these two & that should be more appealing to fans one would think. It doesn't seem to, but I'm not understanding why unless people are fanboying on Canelo or hating on GGG, which a lot of the people who don't wanna see a third fight seem to be promoting.
I think it would be appealing to fans and DAZN obviously think so to.
The fanboying and hating that goes on at this forum does not reflect the true situation out there in the real world.
I just asked this question, and would like your reply:
Would Frank Warren let BJ Saunders fight GGG for the WBO Super Middleweight Championship...ON DAZN?
According to Warren the other day, yes. What else does BJS have going on? He's not moving the needle in the UK or US. His career is almost as bad as Brook's
Stay tuned for the official announcement. The ONLY reason DAZN gave GGG a deal is to make the Canelo trilogy fight. It's happening next, probably in NYC.
I agree. They're paying GGG $100 M for one fight. That's why I keep saying Skipper don't know **** about boxing.
