Looks like Canelo is fighting GGG next

Keith Idec just reported that Canelo-Kovalev and Canelo-GGG are likely the only two fights DAZN will approve for Canelo’s next fight.

That likely means it’s probably going to be Canelo-GGG next. These Kovalev negotiations don’t seem to be heading anywhere.

Kovalev rejected the first offer and said it was way too low. He also has a fight in August that he can’t get out of without sacrificing the WBO title. Since Canelo wants to fight for that title, it seems Kovalev-Yarde is on schedule to happen. The only thing that could stop it would be a step aside fee. Since there’s already an issue with how much Kovalev will make for Canelo, I doubt he’s going to want to pay that fee to Yarde on top of it.

The only issue with the GGG negotiations was site location, which yahoo sports reported wasn’t even really that much of an issue.

I think Golden Boy made its move to try to get Kovalev on the cheap, he said no, so they’ll move on to GGG and try to get Kovalev afterwards.

I predicted that this Kovalev stuff has been about about GG negotiations. Canelo did this EXACT thing before with GG, acting like he wasn't interested, then taking the fight, both times.

Remember this is the clown that reported that it was a done deal that Canelo was fighting David Lemieux in Dec....WRONG....Then reported no matter what happens David Lemieux has been promised and it's a done deal Canelo is fighting Lemieux in MAY. Then even after Lemieux pulled out the undercard in Dec for missing weight he reported even though Lemieux can't make 160 I have been told he is still getting the fight in MAY at 168....WRONG

If Copinger or someone with weight and sources that pan out reports this then maybe I will buy it. But Keith Idec is just a Golden Boy hater and hack and is always wrong. Nobody is feeding him info he is just speculating and making it up. If Copinger reports sources told him...take that shyt to the bank. Keith says it? Uncle fester is usually just making up shyt.

If Canelo isn't willing to fight the prime best 168-175 guys like Bivol and Gvozdyk, then I'd prefer the old light heavyweight Kovalev over the old middleweight GGG.

What I dread is that Kovalev takes the drain down money for a fight he knows he can't win. I wouldn't blame him if he did though. Turns out money is about the best thing to have when you're retired, way better than legacy.
