Great news to me if he fights GGG. I am sick of GGG getting trashed by long time GGG haters and Canelo fans. This way he either loses and I have to admit Canelo is better now or he wins and I can gloat and rub it in. I can't bet money on here but I will bet all my points he beats Canelo. If Canelo fights Kovalev I'll bet on Kovalev. It's time to settle this in the ring. There will be some sad haters on here if GGG beats Canelo and gets the win.

I dread that too. Hopefully Kovalev doesn't accept a catchweight or a 2nd morning weigh in if they ask for it. He just barely makes 175 as it is.

he was 174 in his last fight, not like he had a hard time...

That likely means it’s probably going to be Canelo-GGG next. These Kovalev negotiations don’t seem to be heading anywhere.

Kovalev rejected the first offer and said it was way too low. He also has a fight in August that he can’t get out of without sacrificing the WBO title. Since Canelo wants to fight for that title, it seems Kovalev-Yarde is on schedule to happen. The only thing that could stop it would be a step aside fee. Since there’s already an issue with how much Kovalev will make for Canelo, I doubt he’s going to want to pay that fee to Yarde on top of it.

The only issue with the GGG negotiations was site location, which yahoo sports reported wasn’t even really that much of an issue.

I think Golden Boy made its move to try to get Kovalev on the cheap, he said no, so they’ll move on to GGG and try to get Kovalev afterwards.
Bob Arum who co-promotes Kovalev said their is an agreement that if Kovalev-Canelo gets mades, Yarde will accept step-a-side money and fight Ramirez instead.

Very true...especially with the fanaticism that comes in sports...'legacy' is all subjective anyway and no matter what some guys do, some fans will always slight them...just how it is...so yeah I never really can judge a fighter for taking the money...especially in boxing/mma/fight sports, no one should begrudge a fighter taking the money when it is offered to him.

Bro...I rate GGG about as high as anyone...but if he and Canelo fight, there will likely be half close rounds, and at best 4-5 clear rounds for GGG...that's about how I had the first two fights...7 or so close rounds...5 clear for GGG...and the people who don't like GGG don't exactly give him kudos for those fights lol...basically it will be very hard for GGG to ever dominate Canelo 12-0 and get a clear win from judges and fans.

Without a KO I can't really see Gennadiy winning officially...so betting points on it seems like a risky proposition my friend

And Canelo was 153.5 against Trout and then 152 against Mayweather and lost 7 pounds of muscle between both fights.

Anyone else starting to doubt that Canelo will actually fight in September? We are seriously getting down to the wire if a deal is going to get signed and leave time for a full training camp. It doesn't sound like there's time to negotiate with Kovalev, and Canelo hates GGG + doesn't want to give him another fight.
