Kovalev was lowballed. Jacobs got $10 mil to fight Canelo.

I'm gonna guess Kov is going to 'duck' this fight.

But that was because of his deal with DAZN. Unless Kovalev is planning on making a similar deal those numbers don't apply to him.
All I'm saying is that if I was him i wouldn't take it. That's the kind of leverage he has. What does he have to gain for signing for a fight with a way smaller guy? Money? Sure, but it's a take it or leave it for him because it's not the kind of money he wants.

His coach knows hes suceptable to body shots and he knows Canelo has gotten good with them so why pick that fight?

Add in possible catchweight and rehydration clause and I doubt Kovalev takes it.

His next fight doesnt seem too dangerous so if he grinds it out it's another easy payday.

Add in possible catchweight and rehydration clause and why?

If he isn't going to take a good payday against boxing's biggest star in a fight where he would have a large weight advantage...then I don't know what to say.

He's not going to get more money or a better opportunity anywhere else.

You keep saying it’s different. That’s obvious enough, both bring something to the table the other doesn’t. If Canelo wants a light heavy belt in a fight he will no doubt dictate terms, it’s going to cost some money.

What did Kovalev made in his last fight, that would show his real worth according to the modern fanboy. Stay consistent.

Jacobs lost 1 fight in a 9ish year period of time to GGG, that many people disputed. He's considered a big enough draw to have been guaranteed a Canelo fight upon signing with DAZN.

That don't even matter when you are 3-3 in your last 6 with 2 KO losses. If you could be the C side Kovalev would be the C side in this matchup.

Old guys who've went 3-3 with 2 KO losses in their last 6 fights got CTE if they think they got life changing money coming to them with that recent form. If you can get it fine, but he for sure don't deserve it. That said I suspect this is his biggest payday so he should be happy with that.

He brings nothing except a belt with sh^tty recent form. This would have very lil appeal if it was on PPV. No one is excited for this fight now. Or I'm not seeing it anyway I know that much. And until I hear differently I'm assuming Kov is still walking away with his biggest payday of his career so idk that he can b^tch about it.

                Kova isn't a star.

His only leverage is his belt and his weight class size that will add to Canelo's legacy.

                Just take the money idiot.

dazn is taking care of their fighters, if kova was offered 6.5mill and think he can get more somewhere else then good for him... canelo isnt desperate for the fight , he has options, lets see how kova does at the end of his career without canelo...
not much better than luis ortiz i suspect, lol...
So y'all want me to believe Kovalev is a nobody. There's a reason Canelo is choosing him, 2 weight classes up, over Andrade & Charlo. Kovalev still has name value. Why not call out Bivol? Not only does he have a belt, he could also make 168 if Canelo wanted to meet him in the middle. He's calling out Kovalev because he's still the top name in that division. And about as well known as Jacobs if not more.

He would have a large weight advantage but if rumors are true and it's a catchweight at 170 with a rehydration clause why?

At that point he basically killed himself to make weight and wont be at his best in the ring and that's exactly what Canelo wants.

If I was Kovalev it wouldnt even matter. He beats Canelo and then what? It's not like his stock grows overnight. He is expected to win that fight because of his size. His fight numbers wont improve dramatically and theres no storyline.

Best thing for Kov is to just name drop Canelo and find fans that way. And when you say things like, he isnt gonna get a better opportunity or pay day then look no further than GGG for Canelo.

GGG is Canelos best payday BY FAR and if all Canelo fans truly feel he beat him easy than it's another easy HUGE payday that hes just sidestepping for no reason huh?

Who side steps easy money? You cant talk hypocritically now.

If Canelo is interested in GGG3 then hes obviously playing the long game because he can. He did it once. Twice. And now third times the charm.

So now it comes out Kovalev wants $6.5 mil. Canelo, the biggest star in the sport can't pay his opponents more than AJ paid his? Especially since he's the only one bringing subscribers.

This is a good payday for Kovalev in the twilight of his career. He should take it. He's getting over 5x what he got last time out most likely, probably 10 times plus.
