Kovalev was lowballed. Jacobs got $10 mil to fight Canelo.

If DAZN threw in extra money on top of that because he signed a contract with them how is that relevant to Kovalev?

Is he planning to sign a multi-fight deal with DAZN too?
Canelo is negotiating to buy a title from a well known fighter in another weight-class. Totally different situation.

If Kovalev doesn't sign long term with DAZN why is he expecting to get $10.5 million like Jacobs did?

This is a totally different situation.

Randomly thinking about this more & Kov getting ~$6M for Canelo should include him mowing Oscar's yard for the rest of the year.

If thats not his biggest payday does anyone know what is? And again lets remember this is a 3-3 guy whos been stopped in 2 of his last 6 fights. Kov should feel blessed he got a call at all cuz NO ONE was asking for this fight.
Canelo is not the opportunistic dispacable A side Diva that you think he is! The reason he gave Chavez JR such a hardcore catchweight was because JR deserved to be humbled and he asked for the fight @ 160 so 4.5 more lbs was a gift! Kovalev on the other hand should not be treated the same way he has done nothing to Canelo! Mutual respect champ vs champ! Thoughts?

LOL okay if thats what you wanna believe thats on you. But I'm not even making it a good or bad thing personally cuz I don't believe it is a good or bad thing. Its just a thing.

And the evidence isn't just the JCC thing ("humble" him lol). Lets not forget that Canelo is the guy who invented Caneloweight/155lbs.

Good point & this is why Kov does have some leverage here to. I think $10M, $12M is at leverage level he don't got is the thing.

Maybe he deserves $7M, $8M since this is belt haggling more than a fight negotiation.

I think he's with Matchroom not DAZN.

But great point. Canelo/GBP didn't give Danny 10M or w/e. Eddie gave Danny 10M or w/e as part of his multifight deal with him. Or he gave him most of the 10M anyway.

I don't think it's a cherry pick but people are definitely over hyping this. Just saw they threw a lowball offer at Kovalev. If they're gonna pay Kovalev AND step aside money then why not just fight GGG again?

GGG brings the money and the drama. Great exposure for DAZN.

But imo, this is the angle. They know GGG was no walk in the park and honestly it's probably another 50/50 shot. That's why they wont cave on nothing. Canelo has a lot to prove with that fight. But if they fight Kovalev its still a win/win. Lose and it was expected and Canelo dared to be great or and win everything. It's a Mikey Garcia move all over again except I think Canelo got balls to go out swinging unlike Mikey.

Personally though I dont want GGG3. GGG can not win against Canelo. If it's close. Canelo will edge him. They're so close in terms of skill they're almost inseparable. Canelo knows this so if GGG3 does happen guess what? Hes ANOTHER full year older.

I was just going off of Fat Dan's info from the first post in this thread:

Official contract purses per the Nevada State Athletic Commission: Canelo Alvarez $35M, Daniel Jacobs $2.5M (although he is guaranteed more than $10M under his DAZN deal)

They're basing the "lowball" claim on Danny Jacobs getting 8 figures to fight Canelo.

But that was because of his deal with DAZN. Unless Kovalev is planning on making a similar deal those numbers don't apply to him.

Dazn really screwed themselves by overpaying. Dazn is nothing more than a money mark in Boxing. Just like Rock Nation and 50 Cents promotions.

Gone and broke in no time.
