The problem with your ranting is that to get the position he did “ranked right below the champion” he beat a 32nd ranked fighter and was made mandatory. That’s a fact and not “boxing fan cowardice.” Charlo’s resume at MW is, 3 fights in 3 years. A fight against the 17th ranked MW, a fight against the 32nd ranked MW and a fight against the 14th ranked MW.

During that same exact period and what you conveniently left out was Canelo fought GGG twice, moved up to SMW to achieve what an elite few have and capture a title from Fielding then defended against Danny Jacobs. So tell me, how the hell does Charlo rate the Canelolottery having not fought a single top 10 fighter in 3 years?

Did he not earn his mando spot by becoming champion at 154 and winning his eliminators? That's the way boxing has worked for years. He is a consensus top 5 MW. How does that not rate fighting the #1 guy.

Since when do fans concern themselves with a fighter deserving a paycheck rather than the fight match up?

Eubanks is a 168 guy and Jacobs and Brant are the only legit 160s not named GGG or Alvarez that he could fight as a step up. Isn't GGG avoiding those guys too in addition to Charlo. Its apparent that he won't risk losing to anyone but Alvarez but thats okay to some....but the slightest hint that Charlo is employing a similar approach draws wide criticism.

Boxing fan cowardice shows it’s ugly head once again. This is a sport and any fighter ranked right below the champion should get a chance to fight for the belt... Period.

The excuses listed here not only sound hypocritical and false, they also indicate a de****able fan cowardice of not being able to see their favorite guy in with another top fighter.

From these same fans we see a rally of online support when the undeserving (Fielding and Rolls) get tapped for a fight. However somehow the number one challengers in Andrade and Charlo are not good enough to deserve the opportunity.

Canelo's last fights have been GGGx2, Fielding (who is better than Adams and Sulecki) and Jacobs.

He’s deserving of neither the match up or the pay check. The mando was based on Eliminators? Against 14, 32 and 17 ranked opponents? Really? WBC who once was the top belt in all of boxing has become a laughingstock.

Top 5 MW? Maybe by the WBC. WBO, IBF, WBA don’t even have him in top 10. Quite possibly because he faces less than stellar opponents in which to build a record off of.

Yes... Jermall moved right into the WBC #2 slot when he dropped his 154 title and declared himself at SMW. What you didn’t say is how weak and thin the division was at the time.

You may recall he skipped over at the time HBO fighters David Lemieux and Curtis Stevens at 3 & 4. Fighters who don’t have better wins and whom had been already demolished by GGG. Whom did not present a new case for a competitive fight.

So given Jermall’s 154 resume, with TKO wins over previous Champion Bundrage, contender Campfort, current 154 division champion J Rock Williams and a decision victory over Austin Trout WTF wouldn’t he be ranked #2?

Besides we have been shown over and over, when you are a champion at a lower weight class with a great resume you usually get a strong bump when moving up. We saw this recently with Crawford, Garcia, Loma, Broner, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Brook, Ward etc... Nothing new here.

For example, didn’t we just see “Canelo,” get a more than a generous bump at 168? Not only did he bypass all the TOP FIVE at 168 for a title shot, he fought for a “TITLE,” against a guy who had just moved upward to a #six ranking.

In other, words even though there were higher ranked more proven fighters in the weight class he was gifted a belt first time fighting at the weight.

However somehow you defend that action and add it to Your list of glorious Canelo accolades? So Canelo deserves to walk right into a title fight with out taking on the best opposition at the weight class?

However Charlo who appears to be the biggest threat to the champion by resume shouldn’t have moved past recent knock out victims Stevens and Lemieux? Isn’t that an act of Hypocrisy and Bias.

Then why don’t you also tell the whole story on Sebastian Heiland. You stated he was ranked #32? Well the WBC had him ranked #1. And if he was deservedly #32 please tell me why he was GGG’s Mandatory for the WBC going back to 2015?
