Comments Thread For: Richie Rivera Wins, Corley Shocks Robert Duran Jr.

The Star Boxing Triple Header featured thrilling ABO America Championship bouts that lived up to their hype and Star Boxing's reputation for putting on thrilling fights. RICHIE "POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN" RIVERA (Hartford, CT now 12-0 10KO's) brawled with BRIAN "MVP" HOWARD (Philadelphia, PA now 14-3 11KO's) for the Cruiserweight strap.

Love the way every fight is described as an all-action, foty type war that had the entire crowd and surrounding city on their feet in appreciation even the dudes in wheelchairs. Sounds like the most exciting card of all time

CLICKBAIT article again, nothing to do with Demarcus Corley .... which I would've known if you used full names, but you always shorten it to get hits on an article no one would ****ing read otherwise.

No wonder you're a global joke of a community.

This article sounds like it was writen by STAR boxing. I attended the card and there were a few good fights. Duran Jr. dissapointed again. I was at his last fight at the Turning Stone and he is not his father. Of the three "title fights" (ABO), whatever that is, Lureano looked the best. Rivera was so, so and highly touted irishman Dylan Moran was destroyed by a 2-2, 1 fighter. Vicious K.O. The venue was nice with comfortable seats. All in all worth the 2 hour ride!

Anyone who had watched a previous Roberto Jr fight knew his days were numbered as a undefeated guy even with favorable matchmaking so this isn't much of a surprise he lost to a 1-6 guy who's only win was over a 0-2 guy.

Respect to Richie Rivera. And his f#cking awful & seemingly random as sh^t nickname (iirc he was in the Navy hence the Popeye the sailor man nickname). I remember seeing his pro debut or 2nd fight & not being all that impressed with him while liking his passion & entertainment level, but he's moved up with some bs fights to build up his record to some lower level journeyman fights to build up his experience to some lower level prospect-ish type nice record guys like this W to build himself up to a guy who might be sellable or getting there & is 12-0 (11) now. Could easily see him parlay himself into a ShoBox date or some bigger opportunity then I'd have thought he'd have gotten 2 years ago that allows him to legitimize himself a lil more. Good luck to him with this whole thing.

You said great BOXER as in skill. He had tremendous skill. Still F'n does. Anyone who could last 9.5 out of 10 rounds with a prime Sugar Ray is a talented MF'er.
