When fans/media write a fighter off after one loss but complain that fighters are too concerned about being undefeated.
What is the biggest problem with Boxing?

That governing body must be an athlete's union that determines the match ups and rankings; maintain the integrity of the sport. The entity relationships should be:
athletes <> boxer's union <> promoters <> broadcasters
Promoters bid on FIGHTS. Federal laws and union policy would not allow individual athletes to enter into contracts with promoters.
Broadcasters bid on PROMOTIONS. They do their business with promoters, not with individual fighters.
Alphabet soup organizations are superfluous and not part of this framework.Comment

If you got rid of all the alphabet groups and had only one world champion in each weight class a lot of these other problems would take care of themselves.Comment

at the moment i would call it the "platform wars."
these guys don't even fight on the same devices! some guys are on cable, ppv. other guys are on an app. it's f#cking ******. when promoters have a bunch of guys in the division they have a monopoly! when they don't the guys can't fight each other! it's f#cking ******. i watch a lot less boxing than i used to. some of the guys who make it to the undercards on these apps are f#cking dreadful. stay off social media, stream the fight the next morning, and skip the undercard when it inevitably sucks.Comment

This^^^^^^^
Fighters would be forced to fight the best in their division or be labeled as nobodies and forgotten. Too many boxers can call themselves champs nowadays while having fought pies, or in some cases they are just awarded a beltComment
