Then forced Cotto to defend his belt at 145 after already fighting Oscar at 147. Then fought margarito for the 154lb world championship at a catchweight of 150. Instead of giving Marquez a immediate rematch to fights the public thought he lost he went draining welterweights and Jr middleweights for years worse then Canelo has ever done. But you were impressed when Manny did it.

Sadly, this is modern boxing. Canelo has learned a great deal from Mayweather in and out of the ring. It is inconceivable that Canelo would fight a healthy Kovalev at 175 with no rehydration clause with serious teeth.

I'd continue, but almost all of his big fights after those were catchweights. Super Welterweight 149-154, Middleweight 155-160, Super Middleweight 164-168 with hydration clauses.
