Comments Thread For: Whyte: Wilder Loves Easy, Inactive Fighters as His Mandatories!

Heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte has continued to verbally lash out at the World Boxing Council and their heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder. Whyte has been sitting in the number one position in their rankings for over 600 days. He returns to the ring on July 20th, when he faces undefeated contender Oscar Rivas at The O2 Arena in London.

How likely is it that Deontay Wilder himself gets to pick who he would like to face as his mandatory challenger to his WBC world title? The answer should be none. But then Wilder sent Whyte a text saying he could freeze him out for 2 years and didnt have to fight him. Well Whyte has been Wilders number 1 challenger for 2 years and the fight has not been sanctioned. Just like Deontay Texted.

    Makes you wonder.

Ortiz and Rivas each fought Jennings. Ortiz dominated and koed Jennings in 7rds while Rivas was losing on all scorecards entering the 12th rd and got a late tko. Rivas is also 5ft 11 with extremely short arms?

Can anyone guess why whyte choose to fight #10 Rivas over #3 Ortiz? Because like usual he chooses the easiest fight out of the 2

Dillian whyte is a domestic fighter who can't even beat Joseph Parker fair and square. His home country allowed/overlooked/turned a blind eye/ignored whytes blatant headbutt on Parker and ruled it a knockdown even after the replay.

Funny how the whyte Vs helenius footage is missing. Helenius wobbled whyte in the 3rd with a broken right hand and whyte was gone. Whyte couldn't even score a knockdown against a 1 handed fighter taller than him

Whyte said he wouldn't fight #3 rated Ortiz in a title eliminator because Ortiz didn't speak English but wants his fight Vs #10 rated Rivas to be a title eliminator. Rivas DOES not speak English.......connect the dots

You have a great point that Wilder is not the one who chooses who the WBC decides to make mandatory challenger. But you also ignore the fact that Whyte has had NUMEROUS chances to earn a shot against Wilder. Breazealle even offered to fight him to determine who deserved to be the mando after Whyte went crying on Twitter.

Did Dillian accept it? No. He opted to fight Chisora in a rematch instead. Just like he refused to fight Ortiz, he talked **** about on Twitter and who offered to fight him, AFTER Wilder had already told Whyte that he would give him a voluntary shot if Whyte were to beat Ortiz. He also turned down a rematch against Joshua out of misplaced greed. Whyte really has no one to blame but himself, and continuing to cry on social media isn't going to help him any.

Exactly! Whyte has had ample opportunities to earn himself a shot, and has turned down offer after offer after offer. I also find it hilarious that he talks about Stiverne and Brezealle (the former who I agree was gifted the mandatory). But look at who Whyte fought to get that #1 ranking, Lucas Browne. A guy who himself had been inactive for almost a year before Whyte fought him, and who's last fight before that was against a guy with 20 losses. Whyte really needs to stop being a hypocritical crybaby.

What? Ortiz wanted to fight Whyte on an undercard fight in the States, Whyte said no lets do it as the headline fight on a PPV show in the UK and make much more money. Ortiz didnt want to do it.

All i ever hear is that fights should be made where they make most money. Usually cuz that would be in America. But when its not America and it makes more money elsewhere it all of a sudden its not about chasing the money.
