That's why the Charlos need to step up and fight decent opponents. Make names for themselves without having to depend on someone else's star power. Canelo is not the only fighter in the sport. We need new stars. Unfortunately, they are all hiding behind uncle Al's skirt.Comment

But he certainly won’t rematch guys where he gets gift decisions.
That’s why i’ll never respect him like i do other fighters. Floyd never did that. People disputed his wins over Castillo and Maidana, so what did he do? He got right back in and put it right. He could’ve abused his A-side power and move on, he didn’t need them but he wanted to prove himself.
Canelo never got back in with Lara or GGG once he picked up his gift/questionable W.
He isn’t the warrior he says he is. He’s a very good fighter but all too happy to run off into the sunset with the W on his record rather than prove it properly that it is deserved.Last edited by deathofaclown; 06-29-2019, 07:25 AM.Comment

Exactly! Well said, he will fight "anyone", especially big names who are old, out of their prime, slower and less powerful like he did Mosley, Cotto, GGG and even Mawyweather, now he is possibly shooting for Kovalev? And on top of that the rehydration clauses and fighting lame fighters also like Khan, Smith and Fielding?! More hyped up than what he really is. Mind you, he is good, but Oscar has marketed him amazingly with Canelo's good-looks and Latin nature to attract Mexican fans (which are many). Ryan Garcia is next for superstar status, not by fighting the best either. It's not just him. Superstars tend to get that treatment. Look at the favorable judging, reffing, etc AJ was getting until Ruiz knocked him out. Canelo does seem to get a lot of extra help and special treatment though.
And, for the record, it's cheap to say he'll "fight anyone" if he's calling the weight for all those fights.Comment

Wow, strong statement and theory there man. Drug cartels? I don't know about that man, you might be going a little too far theorizing that.Comment
