Let’s face it, he’s not getting any of the PBC guys at welterweight anytime soon. Why would PBC put him in line for a belt before all there other guys? I would even bet you they’ll have rematches before Crawford gets his chance.
So I say, hold on to that WBO belt for now, make your yearly mandatory against a victim, but also venture up to 154 and see what happens.
All those titleholders would take a fight against Crawford, even if they’re aligned with PBC themselves. It’s too big a fight for a Harrison or a Hurd to pass up. Heck even a young Munguia might take that fight.
It’s a way to have big fights while waiting for PBC welterweights to all fight each other. And when a winner emerges (probably Spence), the titles at 154 are a way to have more power at the negotiating table.
