Which one has a more legit claim to a WBC title fight

Except he's not the #1 contender though. He's not the mandatory
He's just ranked #1 with that particular organization. Which is meaningless.Comment

Being the #1 contender for long enough is supposed to all but guarantee a title shot. He had been offered a final eliminator only for his proposed opponent to get the shot ahead of him despite fighting a lower ranked and worse eliminator than Whyte had. That's being hard done by no matter how little you like Dillian you gotta see that.Comment

being the number one contender is meaningless until you fight the eliminator. Whyte didn't fight it. Whyte is #1 in the WBO rankings, but Usyk is #1 contender.
I could have sworn (I may be wrong) that they announced Teixeira/Lozano as being the final eliminator to face Munguia for the WBO and Kell Brook is #1 in their rankings.Comment

Mandatory isn't a #1 contender I hope you know that. Also that WBO junior middleweight eliminator is pointless seeing as Dennis Hogan will be fighting whichever top opponent is there, maybe the winner of Teixeira Lozano or Munguia if he doesn't vacate by then.being the number one contender is meaningless until you fight the eliminator. Hogan/Munguia already fought. It was bull****. I had it 117-111 for Hogan.
So if now we're getting into the semantics of when you're ranked #1, to being #1 contender, to being mandatory; Then if so, I should have worded my original statement "Whyte has been ranked #1 but he's never been mandatory" so my apologies there.
We can word it as Whyte is #1 contender or first in line for a final eliminator. Fair? hahaComment

Technically that was being #1 contender means. First to be considered for an eliminator for a title shot. Whyte hasn't been, I can see why he held off on the WBC at the point where he could keep his options open.Hogan/Munguia already fought. It was bull****. I had it 117-111 for Hogan.

Hogan is fighting on the same card as Munguia in his next fight too but Munguia refuses to run it back for now. Looks like he'll vacate and move up to 160 after his next fight, where he'll get smoked by any top contender let alone champion.Comment

Munguia is hot garbage. I had him getting a tie against Inoue, and losing big to Hogan. Munguia will take a soft touch next (Ironically, that's what Inoue and Hogan were supposed to be) then move up to 160 and get murdered by Canelo (or anyone else with skill at 160)Technically that was being #1 contender means. And yeah, we were just going over the wording from the sounds of it. My bad, you're correct that he's first in line for the eliminator. I thought you were arguing (originally) that Whyte is Mandatory which a lot of people have been doing.Comment

The scoring for that Inoue fight was shocking too, was a tie for me as well. Munguia has awful defense and no cojones for ducking rematches with Hogan and Inoue. As long as Hogan gets his rightful second shot at the title with Munguia there or not I'm happy.Munguia is hot garbage. I had him getting a tie against Inoue, and losing big to Hogan. Never seen a fighter like Munguia. Blocks punches like Margarito but doesn't really fight back...
Munguia has never seen an overhand right that he didn't want to kiss.Comment
