Who is the greatest of all time? Larry Holmes Lennox Lewis Vitali or Tyson Fury?

Holmes struggled against Shavers and Spinks. He lost to Witherspoon and Williams. His greatest win was against Gerry Cooney.
A great fighter, but clearly out-matched against the Super Heavyweights.
Vitali's decision to quit was odd. But it was a one-off. His heart can't be questioned.
Also, as far as Witherspoon is concerned; He was a great defensive fighter. He gave Larry a very close fight and he pushed him to the limits.
He had him in trouble in rounds 7 and 9 but overall Holmes did more than enough to win that fight. It wasn't his best performance; However, Witherspoon just wasn't active enough.
As far as Williams and Spinks are concerned; All of them were close and controversial fights. By that time, Larry was beginning to show signs of aging.
He was not at his best. Williams got off to very fast start and was actually out jabbing Holmes but Larry picked up the pace and won it down the stretch.
The two Spinks fights were very close and controversial. I'll concede that Spinks probably won their first bout but in the rematch I thought Larry was robbed. He clearly beat Spinks but they gave it to Michael anyway.
Their bouts were very close, controversial and very reminiscent of the Golovkin/Canelo bouts.Comment

Seems like Ali's reputation has people bamboozled. Humans love their mythology and nostalgia, so they will believe that Ali was Superman. He was a product of lots of hype and the political climate of the time. He was an excellent fighter that was beatable. Both Frazier and Ken Norton gave him hell every time they fought. Even the little Brit, Henry Cooper drop Ali hard. Many years later Ali's trainer (Angelo Dundee) said that Ali was hurt coming back to the corner. Not invincible by any means. There's little doubt in any rational mind that he could be beat by any of the great fighters....and like you said, everyone can't win against the other top competition. Ali was great but he was just one of the many great heavyweights.Comment

We are talking prime right? I don't consider Ali in the second Frazier fight prime. Two things Ali could do. Make Fury follow him and frustrate him. IMO has better footwork and hand speed. Pot shot him. Dart inside his long reach and land combinations then get out. Use his jab. Yes a smaller guy can jab effectively against an opponent with superior reach. Ali is smart enough and has a good enough corner to come up with a plan to nullify Fury's reach. I don't see Fury beating Ali. I just don't.Comment
