As good a fighter as Dirrell is, he avoided Benavidez for a reason the first time he was the mandatory after he suffered an "injury" & chose not to enforce his mandatory status when he came back until after Benavidez got stripped. The kid is a special talent & Dirrell doesnt wanna see how special he is. Hes stuck this time.

So, if this bout is slated for "the fall" and David is beginning to train, I'm guessing early September.
Glad to see a lot of people high on Benavidez. I don't think his name gets mentioned enough. With him in the SMW division, it's one of the better divisions to watch.
Who thinks this will be Dirrell's last fight ? Let's just hope the deal get's finalized without delay.
Haven't heard anything from Eubank Jr or Uzcategui as to when they'll be in the mix...

Oh and if you doubt Benavidez cuz of the Gavril fight, remember he's only 22, and was 20 years old when he WON both of those fights and became the youngest SMW champ ever. Even with the KD, Gavril has been sent into obscurity.
Watch for Benny to rule the division.
