Agreed. Joey won't be able to walk around catching butterflies vs Gassiev. It's a KO cold type of fat. The extra fat is not helping Joey

I was there as well. Thought he gave Kuzmin a tough fight. Dawejko is one of those guys who get's "close but no cigar".

Yup, you and Clemenza are dead on right; Dawejkos and other gatekeepers of his ilk are part of the foundation of this sport. They are needed to filter the contenders and pretenders. I hate when some random poster refers to guys like this as "bums" and still claim to be boxing fans. Dawejko usually does just enough to lose his fights but he has skills and a decent chin. It will be interesting to see how Gassiev's power translates. If he stops Joey, then I reckon he's plenty powerful at his new weight class.

If Gassiev is a real deal for hw, he should destroy Dawejko. Dawejko is one of those guys you have to beat before you go to the next level.
