Come on, we all know Joshua is capable of beating Ruiz. He beat Povetkin who's a MUCH better boxer and hits harder than Ruiz. **** happens in boxing. He'll make it right in the rematch I'm sure, or either he'll fight the wrong fight and lose again. But to say slugging it out would be a mistake, well you don't know that for sure. He could have easily knocked Ruiz out after that one knockdown with 1 more good shot.

Although Joshua got beat up, it resulted from simply being clipped in a similar way to Lewis. That shot he took to the temple while recklessly going for the finish in the 3rd is what done Joshua in. From that point on his legs were shaky and it looked like his mind was 1000 miles away, not to mention the complete confusion he was displaying in his corner.
The only difference being Lewis was down and out after getting clipped in those 2 fights and Joshua got up and tried to continue (in body if not in spirit). Maybe his corner should have spotted the signs of concussion at the end of the 3rd and stopped it, but then they'd have taken criticism for not allowing the champ to go out on his shield.

Probably the 50th Brit I've seen use the term reckless as to why Joshua got knocked out but truth is he got countered if thats what you call reckless then I guess we can say the same about every single boxer who has been rocked or dropped in the history of boxing from a counter punch what was Andy supposed to do just let Joshua tee off on him he did what everyone else was too scared to do and that was punch with him didn't work out so well for your boy

Easy up there sunshine, I'm not trying to dismiss what Ruiz achieved, because he deserved to win that particular fight. He stuck to the gameplan where Joshua didn't and he recovered better than Joshua did from being dropped.
At the end of the day most KO's in the HW division result from recklessness, as in general the big lads rely more heavily on power than the lighter guys do and are more susceptible to a counter punch.

Good points made. If nothing else, we can definitely credit Joshua for his bravery.

they are trying to find some sort of victory for the guy and there isn't one... "he was classy in defeat" what in the hell else was he supposed to be? "he was brave for getting up" lololol. the dude just flat out got his azz beat

I would say that slugging it out was indeed the mistake. Joshua thought that Ruiz couldn't stand up to his power. He was wrong. Ruiz has to be broken down first. Joshua needs to use his height and box him. Ruiz also didn't like the body shots. More meaningful jabs and body shots would be far more effective in the rematch.

It is better to fight Joshua for a big payday than haymon`s champs for smaller money.

Who wouldn’t want to fight a fighter that every time you touch his chin clean he either picking himself off the canvas or knees buckling for more money than someone who scores highlight reel ko’s
