It's because America is the venue that is going to pay himself, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport the most amount money through DAZN, which is why he wants the rematch at Madison Square Garden.

AJ gets respect for not only demanding the immediate rematch, but also for taking it at the same venue. If he regains his belts, he gets mad respect. If he fights Wilder after that (UK or USA - this fight ain't going to a decision), I don't see how anyone can criticize him.

Selfish part of me thinks that I can't really afford two trips to NYC in half a year.

The other part thinks fair bloody play for wanting it at MSG

Joshua can make Eddie put this fight on in Iceland so he damn sure can call it for MSG if he legit wants it there so it'll be interesting to see what the official venue ends up being.

It'd be a bold move to fight the rematch in the US, but I do suspect he'll be feeling some pressure from DAZN to do it too & I'm sure its not lost on Joshua that the move is a US rematch if he wants to get big in the US.

I'd like to hear AJ actually say some of these things Eddie is always claiming he said. Like Wilder said, AJ doesn't say these things. But now he has to go out there & back up another man's words.

It really doesn't matter. MSG isn't exactly home court for Ruiz and the judges were not exactly on his side the first time.

If you believe that Joshua actually had some kind of panic attack then it might be a concern to be going back to the same place. I'm pretty sure though that it was all just nonsense.
