If Price is reflecting on his own decisions, then he's right, he clearly needed more time to rebuild mentally as he went into the second Thompson fight having lost before it started.

He's extrapolating that experience from himself to Joshua, but that's only valid if Joshua carries the same level of self-doubt that Price did after the first Thompson fight. He might have a point, Joshua might be overly cautious of getting hit again in the rematch and it could strangle his own output - but Joshua isn't Price...or is he....oh well, we find out in Nov/Dec.
I have been extremely impressed at how Joshua has reacted to his loss to Ruiz, especially as the days go by 'His video uploads, talks of him wanting the rematch in america, videos of him? stating that he is pissed, but trying to enjoy new york' I could not help but be impressed.

I don't quite think Joshua has reacted the same way David Price did at-least not externally, who knows what is going on inside? Is Joshua that good of actor, we don't know.

I think because Joshua has already beaten plenty elite fighters, many times fought in-front of football stadiums, and won the Olympic Gold medal 'Internally he is already on a different level to Price'.

But David Price has done well to carry on fighting.

David Price vs Anthony Johnson please!!!!

Both these guys are well known for glass chins and giving up mid fight. Would be an intriguing all UK battle to watch.

Perhaps the winner could fight Dave Allen for british title or something.

Yes you are quite right, Joshua has already been in situations that proved he could handle pressure - Price seemed unusually fragile mentally in the Thompson years. As to why Joshua appeared nervous before Ruiz, who knows, but as Hearn said (accurately), the rematch will be the true test of his character.

Price showed that he eventually recovered mentally in the Povetkin fight (and others) where he didn't fight scared any more - he gave Povetkin as good as he got for a while (even rocking him) before his physical deficiencies decided the outcome.

Do you realize how absurd that statement is ...

There are rules and guidelines governing the medical state and condition of boxers prior to being ALLOWED to enter the ring for competition. Notwithstanding the LEGAL implications involved with the boxing's governing agency allowing a boxer to enter the ring concussed. Do you not understand the lawsuits that could be filed against DAZN, Matchroom and the NYSAC.

Some of you dudes have no clue what you're stating, along with the complete absurdity of stating such things without a single shred of CONCRETE evidence.

            Freakin unbelievable ....
Even Ray Charles knows Josh was concussed the fight week. Who gets acupuncture on his cheek on fight week? Even before the fight, his neck got massaged. The guy was looking tired before the fight started and had already gassed out in the first rd. Signs are there.

Also, the textbook shows you’re doing too much. Go analyse his last 5 fights before Ruiz and compare it to the crap textbook you wrote and you’d see that nothing adds up.

He doesn’t know how to use his height against short guys and perhaps his head movement and defence are suspect. Everything else you wrote is crap. He has a decent chin and recovery. His jab is decent when he uses it but can make stiffer and he can box.

When he sparks Ruiz out in the rematch, I’m sure you’re going to come up with a next textbook crap refuting the first crap you wrote. Do some of you even watch boxers or you just watch one bout and decide to write nonsense? I guess that’s why most of you feel Fury is the 2nd coming of Ali and Wilder is an ATG, lol.

Oh, Jason Terry made Lebron James look like a bum in the NBA finals on his off night. Time to analyse his career based on that and write a textbook about how Lebron is overrated, lol. Serena Williams must be a bum for losing to an unranked player at the French Open if I were to tell you to describe her career based on that match.

No tune-up. He’ll knock Ruiz out in the rematch.

How did he beat Povetkin? Watch the Povetkin vs Josh bout again from the 4th rd and tell me he doesn’t know how to throw jabs.

He has activated the rematch and it’s happening. No going back.

It is a risk, but he hasn’t any other options.

Wilder and Fury would **** him and Hearn in negotiations if he tried to make that fight right now. They’d probably both demand 60-40 in their favor (or better).

Joshua-Ruiz 2 probably does big business in the Uk. If he wins, he can move forward with fighting Wilder or Fury. If he loses, he can fight David Price or something then wait for another opportunity at a title.

Joshua has to take the rematch. It would take him a couple of years to force his way back into contention if at all otherwise. Price doesn't have a clue he never scaled the heights that AJ has and is bitter about it.

I love how all of you are talking about Ruiz's lack of power and slapping punches.

It was Ruiz's SPEED and counterpunching ability that Joshua couldn't deal with. Joshua simply CANNOT fight on the inside with Ruiz.

And I don't see him jabbing and throwing the occaisional right hand while moving to his right for 12 rounds.

Joshua is going to have to exchange at some point, and he'll get countered, and stopped again.

I don't see him becoming a defensive wizard over the next 4 or 5 months. He's there to be hit. And Ruiz will hit him again. And win again.
