If the rumors of getting KO'd in sparring are true, then maybe AJ and his team may think that he can beat Ruiz if healthy.

But if not the Ruiz rematch, then what?

Price has expressed a valid point .......

After watching the fight several times, I've noticed the following:

AJ has several problems to solve prior to a rematch, which is unlikely to be corrected, because he's been fighting the same way for quite awhile.

AJ has problems with shorter opponents. He struggles with his stance and misses his straight shots more often. He changes his height seemingly at the wrong time giving his shorter opponents all the chances they need to jump in with shots.

Ruiz doesn't have a problem fighting taller opponents, so he's right at home. And will more likely than not, fight exactly the same way in a rematch.

      --- Advantage Ruiz

AJ has horrible recovery once he gets clipped and hurt and doesn't seem to know how to use his jab to keep opponents at bay, until he gets his senses back. He's also been hurt in several fights so his punch resistance maybe diminishing more and more each fight.

Ruiz didn't seem to be hurt, even when he got knocked down and was taking AJ's shots in stride.

      --- Advantage Ruiz

In a rematch, mental state plays a major role in reversing\maintaining momentum.

AJ has been beaten in a manner that raises a ton of questions, some of which will remain unanswered. Was it a lack of heart, was it the pressure associated with being at the top, or were the expectations placed upon him too great. Add to the equation the lingering HW opponents that are monsters in their own right watching with interest at his reactions. AJ will have a ton of pressure and mental thoughts plaguing him leading up to the rematch. And that pressure will be amplified, once he gets hit by Ruiz again and stunned - deja vu anyone.

Ruiz is in a great position in a rematch. All he has to do is improve on what he did in the first fight. And Ruiz seems to grasp the position he's in and will take full advantage of having the mental edge.

      --- Advantage Ruiz

      Puncher's Chance.

AJ, in spite of the monumental task ahead of him, still has a puncher's chance. He is devastating when he's on-point. But will the outside of the ring noise cause him to negate his own advantages and fight the rematch in a confused way? This remains to be seen and it is the biggest question to be answered. If AJ can't totally dismiss all the talk\noise and Matchroom expectations, then he will not approach this fight as a 2.0, but as a continuation of the first fight.

      --- Conditional Advantage AJ

I can't wait for the rematch And may the better prepared man win.

He needs to come back with a **** . The Povetkin fight was the same he takes a good while to adjust to short fighters . Once he started timing Povetkin he cleared him out

I think he thought Ruiz was done and got wild and clipped . It happens

Find it funny people righting the guy off
Even with the flaws he has, he’d beat Ruiz like a thief comfortably.

After watching it again several times, Ruiz just doesn’t have the power and he slaps most of time. He couldn’t even inflict any serious damage to knock a drunken Josh out cold and his face looked like he didn’t get hit with anything after the fight.

Josh just wasn’t fit. If he’s fit in the rematch, he will spark Ruiz out cold.

Lol, look at a textbook worth of analysis based on a fight where a boxer went into the ring already concussed, lol.

Once Ruiz gets laid out on a stretcher in the rematch, I’d like to read your textbook analysis again.

Ruiz ate Joshuas best shots, Joshua was shook every time Ruiz landed.

              Joshua's power is a myth.

He got punched twice proper and went down

                Joshua’s power isn’t a myth it’s his punch resistance

What boxer was concussed prior to entering the ring????

Do you realize how absurd that statement is ...

There are rules and guidelines governing the medical state and condition of boxers prior to being ALLOWED to enter the ring for competition. Notwithstanding the LEGAL implications involved with the boxing's governing agency allowing a boxer to enter the ring concussed. Do you not understand the lawsuits that could be filed against DAZN, Matchroom and the NYSAC.

Some of you dudes have no clue what you're stating, along with the complete absurdity of stating such things without a single shred of CONCRETE evidence.

                  Freakin unbelievable ....

Yeah but at the same time i get why..Im pretty sure Hearn would like him to take a tune-up first, But they cant without looking weak. They pretty much have no choice.

How will he beat Ruiz comfortably when he doesn’t throw the jab enough which is key to fighting short guys when you the taller man? He was confused after the first round asking what to do next because he already sensed Ruiz foot/hand speed was giving him problems.... unless Joshua learns to fight tall and work off his jab Ruiz going bust him up again which is why he shouldn’t take a rematch immediately
