I wouldn't say I knew Ruiz would win, but I knew that a $100 that paid out $1185 wasn't too bad of a risk. Cha ching!

I'm not upset and I'm not going to lie. That was good tasting crow. I picked Ruiz to lose, but I'm happy he won. That is crow on a silver platter.

The only trainer I heard picking Ruiz was Freddy Roach

I figured AJ and the ref to keep Andy out of reach and breaking up any in close fighting for 12 rounds to score a dodgy points decision with some dubious judging.

Barring that I expected Ruiz to knock him over if AJ wasnt fully on his game, based on what I'd seen from the Parker/Ruiz fight.

Parker went 12 rounds with Ruiz and looked way worse for wear than he did when he went 12 rounds with Joshua.

AJ was always and will be a giant glass jawed robot. Parker could have proved it with the same gameplan Ruiz used to expose Joshua.

Unfortunately, when Parker gets hit he goes into his shell and boxes, when Ruiz gets hit he comes out of his shell, lets his hands go and fights back.

You're not going to win a boxing match against AJ. The powers that be wont allow it. You need to fight him, dominate him, intimidate him, hurt him and knock him down, a lot or out.

The book is out on Joshua. Ruiz can do it again, so could Parker and Whyte if given another chance.

It's no wonder AJ was ducking Windmill for all these years hoping someone would beat him or that he'd lose his mojo with marinating.

I'm so happy for Ruiz, he got what he deserved and long may he reign...

I always said Ruiz had a good chance because Joshua is not hard to hit and Ruiz was faster I don't care what DiBella says I told several people in person to put some money on Ruiz because of the odds and his chances for an upset of course Joshua was the favorite he was the champion but when I saw his face busted up during fight week I got even more confident I been following Ruiz since he was fighting on Top Rank undercards in China against Hamer and Hanks and thought he had some crazy speed and decent power if you asked me if I thought he was going to dominate Joshua like that I would have said no I thought he was going to win a decision based on punch output but good thing he won the way he did because Hearn had the judges in the pocket just like the Taylor and Kelly fights and they would have robbed Ruiz without a doubt

Body shapes don't mean much in the heavyweight division.
A big-bellied guy can out punch a perfectly trimmed bemuscled guy.

I never picked ruiz, but I am aware that he could pose problems for AJ. I also know that AJ was partying and goofing around in Miami from his instagram posts, so it wasn't that much of a stretch. When I see upcoming fights coming up, I look for patterns in the fighters, and AJ was taking things lightly, but also appeared nervous in the fight. As the fight progressed, everything unveils.

I did bet on Miller to beat Joshua by knockout. I did not have the confidence to bet Ruiz based on his being a late sub but it was certainly not the " shocking upset" that most claim. The stamina issues and suspect chin were only a secret to his diehard fans!
