So is he good or is Canelo that bad? Make up your minds.
This is what most fans don't want to answer because it exposes an inherent flaw in how they evaluate fighters.

Most fans don't evaluate fighters by their in ring performance (ie Canelo and GGG were essentially neck and neck). They base it off of who said what, who challenged who, etc. Or they are just outright biased in favor of fighters for various reasons.

The truth is at the respective stages of their career, G mid 30s Canelo late 20s, they were about as equal as can be. Until the biased fans drown me out arguing otherwise. Unfortunately that doesnt fit most fans criteria, they base it off of reality TV as opposed to what happened in the ring.

Derevyanchenko has come out and defended Golovkin.

Golovkin fought and beat former title holders, title holders, the ONLY fighter to get a draw in a den of snakes where one cannot secure a decision against the house fighter.

Geale, Rubio, Murray, Monroe Jr, Lemieux, Wade, Brook, Jacobs all nobodies? when GGG was pummeling all comers, Charlo and Andrade were down at 154.

Amateur Record: 345-5 (might be 8 losses)

Record of 19-1-1 (18 KOs) in world title fights.
Record of 5-1-1 (4 KOs) against former, current, and future world champions:
Won against Kassim Ouma, Daniel Geale, David Lemieux, Kell Brook, and Daniel Jacobs.
      Drew against Saul Alvarez.

WBA Super World Middleweight Title (October 2010-present; 19 defences)
IBF World Middleweight Title (October 2015-present; 4 defences)
WBC World Middleweight Title (May 2016-present; 4 defences)

Has never tasted the canvas. My point is, be reasonable. Don't be one of the half-wits on here who just write whatever they're feeling, have zero humility and are just keyboard tough guys.

The way you express yourself here reveals much about who you are.
      Great post.

I did not read the article the moment I saw "Cliff Rold".

GGG was great, but now he's in the twilight. No more big fights. If he fights Canelo again, he will lose by a wide decision in an uncompetitive fight.

And GGG gave his IBF belt to Sergiy. Spin that!

Many experts on record say Canelo hurts GGg in a 3rd fight.

Nah, he's in his prime and he'll only get faster and better and add to that jaw dropping resume. Fux sake, of course his star has come and gone. Geez.

Here is the reality of Golovkin's legacy. If he had been awarded the victory in the first Canelo fight. People would move on to the next shiny object in the middleweight division soon after GGG's retirement and he would be soon forgotten.

Golovkin's legacy will not be defined by his resume because other than fights with Jacobs and Alvarez it is rather thin, but by the fact that the first Canelo fight was scored a draw and Adelaide Byrd muddied the waters with her off the mark scoring. His legacy will also be dogged by his penchant for fighting weak opposition at every opportunity -- Rolls being the latest example.

Golovkin was and is a good fighter and will be a sure-fire Hall of Famer, but he is not the second coming of Marvin Hagler or an all-time great. He is as much product of the social media and HBO hype machine as anything else.

Some of the fights he's been involved in are a joke.

GGG has horribly mis-managed his career. He should have fought Sergiy.....but we are talking about Canelo ducking. It happened.
