True but they can try to negotiate
I have no doubt Wilder v Ruiz will come up and this maybe Wilders only chance now to get all the belts; If this fight is put forward they would have to pay a massive step aside to AJ and probably sign a contract to agree to let him fight the winner....but basically Ruiz has to follow through with the rematch or be sued. Also if he avoids the rematch mandatory's will come into play and he could lose some of the belts by not defending them.
This is possibly AJ's last big payday if he loses thats it. Also if he steps aside and rebuilds to work his way back up again his paydays will go down. If he is not ready and needs to learn the WK style to fight big, then maybe there could be a deal on the table to step aside (get paid for not fighting) and then come back ready. We shall see...........Comment

Yes but Ruiz and his team can put forward other options such as fight in USA or Mexico ........but it will no doubt cost them as it will breach the original contract.

Its probably in the contract that the fight has to be in the UK. It makes sense - if your fighter loses his titles in the US. He is more likely to win them back in the UK
Also Ruiz was a late replacement for the opportunity of a lifetime. He probably just signed up to everythingComment

and what happens to fighters who break contracts: they do not fight at all until it is settled. So yes Ruiz can try but he will lose big time and in the mean time his mandatory's will come up and he will lose all the belts. Look at fighters who try to leave promoters when still under contract, do they get to fight while the lawyers sort it out: No they do not fight under their old promoter and neither do they fight for any new promoter until it is all settled.
Ruiz will have to pay to get out of the contract and to make it worth while he needs a bigger higher paying fight to cover those costs.Comment

No controversy here, Ruiz has more leverage than the first fight obviously. Like any contract negotiation there will be give and take on both sides to make it acceptable for all parties. I will be on my couch watching and I have both DAZN and Showtime so the venue and network don't really matter to me. I won't receive any kickbacks financially from Hearn nor Haymon so I don't care who is considered to have won that aspect. I just look forward to the fight of/when it happens. It's amazing how enjoyable it is when you really only care about the fighters and fights.Comment
