Joshua "quit" because he had am immediate rematch clause

Not because he's a "coward" who is "frightened" of Ruiz

He knew it wasn't his night, get it over with and go straight to the rematch.

Kind of a ***** move to throw the fight knowing you have an immediate rematch clause, but whatever.

Nice story. Pure fiction but imaginative.

LOL Obviously… the only thing Joshua was thinking about was the rematch while he was on bambi legs and getting pummeled in front of 15.000+ fans screaming. Because anyone who has ever laced a pair of gloves in his life know that's what we do in the ring, we think about a lot of different stuff rather than the actual fight.

Isn't that the definition of "quitting" and being a "coward"? To run away from what is in front of you, thinking you will do it sometime else?

A champion hangs in there with great determination, pulls out his reserve energy, uses his willpower and fight...even if he looses fighting. Champs have fought in that ring with broken jaws, dislocated shoulder, massive cuts or swollen eyes and still won...instead of quitting because they have a rematch clause.

                  Agreed

Giving rounds away is understandable sometimes, but giving up on the fight altogether... that's a different story. Being a champion means getting up when you can't
