He was forced to quit after having a serious beat down put on him by Ruiz Jr. Of that there is now doubt, it was an emphatic blowout

Champions dont quit .. AJ doesnt have the mentality or the heart of a champ . He surrendered his belts to a short chubby snickers addict without even putting up a fight

No way did AJ quit. When the ref asked if ha wanted to continue, he just wasn't sure.

of course he quit. he meekly tried to quit without showing he was quitting, he actually wanted out at the end of the third, when he refused the reffs instructions..

Quiting to me is what Lomachenko did to Rigondeaux. What AJ did was more so being beaten into submission. He suffered several knocked downs and took a well calculated beating up upside of his head and body.

Rigondeaux was being throughly outboxed and humiliated and quit while barely going through adversity in the fight.

                He quit.

He was looking at his corner with puppy dog eyes begging them to throw in the towel so he didnt look like he quit. He spit out his mouth piece like a ***** to buy extra time and the ref wasnt playing that ****. The ref ask him to come forward to start fighting again and AJ is leaning back on the ropes afraid to come out and take more punches from Ruiz.

                That is undeniably a quitter.

                    How do you see it?
He didn’t verbally quit but if you analyse his body language: After the first three knockdowns he put his gloves up to the referee during the count to demonstrate he wanted to continue. After the fourth knockdown he spat out his gum shield and then turned his back on the referee during the count. It wasn’t a blatant quit like a “no mas” but he was definitely looking for a way out and the referee gave him one.

AJ looked mentally defeated and exhausted by the 4th round. As though he just didn't want to be there. He had a look of indifference from his first knockdown to the end of the fight. I just don't think his heart was in this fight, and only AJ knows the reasons why. Good on him for not making any excuses and paying Ruiz his well-deserved respect.
