Is AJ more Frank Bruno or more Lennox Lewis at this point?
Both Lennox and Wladimir Klitschko got a bit arrogant, lost by KO, and then changed to Emanuel Steward.
Steward took them from being good fighter to making them GREAT!
One difference with Joshua:
Emanuel Steward ain’t walking thru that door...

Ricky Hatton Vs Manny
That's a knockout dude
Tyson Vs Marvis Frazier
That's a knockout dude
Hell - Tyson used to knockout them for the count of 20 !!
A knockout is when you knockout em out COLD and they're sleeping.
Ruiz didn't knock AJ out.Last edited by denilson200; 06-08-2019, 09:05 AM.

Im a big Wilder fan by the way I always knew AJ was a knockout waiting to happen and that he would put Joshua to sleep quicker than Ruiz did but styles make fights.
Wilder fights with more stealth against fighters like Ruiz, and could well catch Ruiz and end it. But more likely he will have to repeat good defense and big punches many times in a Ruiz fight. Meanwhile Ruiz is VERY adept at fighting taller guys of any weight, and has a very good motor once he starts swinging. It's a dangerous affair for any tall heavyweight. It will be dangerous for Wilder as long as the fight goes, as it will for Ruiz.
Ruiz motor allows him to **** guys until they are out of good defensive position. He will do that to anyone, if he's not ****** out of position himself. You either move, run or you're gonna be in a firefight. Key is keeping good position (footwork) and being prepared to put up a huge firefight yourself.
I think Wilder would find a way (he's a lot tougher than many think and can brawl), but there are definitely ways Ruiz could win. It's a dangerous fight. Whether the Ruiz/AJ fight ever happened, it would have been a dangerous fight. Grade A HW action!
AJ can make it back. I think Team hearn is wrong for him in terms of being a rough, tough FIGHTER first. If he doesn't make changes he will always be at risk against talented guys who fight first, box second, aren't afraid, and haven't been emasculated by hearn's A-Side promotion BS. With no undo advantage from a ref, or judges, and without an advantage in well-wishers
and attention, AJ will have to RE-LEARN to fight. With serious intent and be ready to wage war for many rounds ... not some stoppage BS.
Need Bad Intentions. AJ needs to FIGHT in sparring and get rid of red carpet training. Getting dropped or KO'd in sparring can happen, but shouldn't, because a fighter is ON HIS BUSINESS - not because the promoter is 'not allowing' sparring to get out of hand.
Will be interesting to see where AJ goes from here.

The title shot was gifted to him. He did well in the ring but he didn't do anything to be there in the first place. Miller got busted, Ruiz got lucky. That's what I said.
Some "fans" don't realize the amount of training, sparring, injuries, and lifestyle choices figters go through to "deserve" to fight.
The Patriots have to play EVERY team on the schedule, and potentially every team in the League. So do the Raptors, Warriors, Lakers, etc. Why? 'Cause they are all PROS, and on a given night the worst team MAY upset the best. Same for boxing. If a guy is a pro, has fought his way into the top 20, he HAS EARNED any good, profitable fight he gets. Period!
Get off mama's tet with that deserve a shot BS

Patriots, Raptors, Warriors, Lakers? Who's that? I'm talking about boxing here. There's no schedule, no real rankings, nothing. Schwarz was highly ranked, did he deserve to fight in Vegas? Against Fury? Schwarz isn't the best heavyweight in Germany and all of them suck in Germany.

Literally every fighter goes through that. Lifestyle choices yeah look at Ruiz. LOOK AT HIM. He's not even dedicated to being an athlete, he's dedicated to eating chocolate bars. What did he do in the ring before the AJ fight to deserve the fight? Nothing. You know it, I know it, even Ruiz himself knows it.
Yeah, he's still a fighter but so is everyone else in the game. Can't hand out free title shots with mulitiple million dollar purses to everyone who puts gloves on. You have to earn it or get lucky and Ruiz got lucky.
