Ruiz looked hurt to me, his eyes were glassy when he sat on the canvas but he recovered quickly. Did he win rounds 1 and 2 on your scorecard? Really? I think it's almost impossible to say Ruiz was winning the fight anyway or seemed like he'd win anyway. Very strange statement in my opinion.

I would love to see AJ spend his camp in the rematch against ruiz alongside canelo and reynoso. Reynoso would teach him how to counter properly and move his head

I don't subscribe to this "so-and-so is a good trainer, so go with him..." I think it depends on the attributes of the fighter, the trainer has to be a good fit. With Rob McCracken, he got the Amateur GB gig, then stayed on with AJ. His only real experience of note before that was training Carl Froch. And let's be honest, Froch had to rely on having a granite chin. He was also slow, flat-footed and quite predictable. Couldn't box very well. Hmm. I have no idea who could do a better job for AJ. There are no names who immediately jump out. There's Adam Booth who has a great Boxing brain and IQ, but he is already invested in a bunch of fighters and just took Joe Joyce on... not sure who else is out there.

Is his trainer that bad or is he just the fall guy to ax down? Don't know too much about him but he got AJ to where he was to my understanding (undisputed HW champ of the world) and now AJ has a meltdown and get this arse kicked and people are ready to throw him under the bus.
I keep hearing people saying AJ needs to go with Floyd Sr and that's absolutely comical. At this point he's not going to learn new boxing styles that don't resemble his at all. Sr.'s defensive-counter punching style would only work with fluid boxers (Fury, Ruiz) not a powerful basic guy like AJ.

An experienced trainer could be what Joshua needs,, but I don't think it will help much because AJ is basically a HW version of Victor Ortiz. No mental strength and he quits when the going gets tough..
