You are wrong again Hearn......Firstly there is a very good chance if Joshua were to pursue the rematch that the same would happen again .Second Joshua was not beaten by a one punch knockout and won every round until the knockout. He was taken to pieces after having dropped Ruiz with his best shot.

Ruiz beat Joshua with ease .Slowly taking him apart , he got Joshua fighting on the back foot afraid to throw punches because of the speed of precise punchers coming back.

It was disturbing to hear his Trainer telling him to jab ,right hand as a measure to fend of the nightmare and for Joshua to then ask 'what's he going to do now' is almost embarrassing at this level.

Barry and Eddie Hearn are simply a pair of shyters .All the other promoters , promote and in their own way become tiresome but this pair are at another level .They think as Old boy Barry said 'they run the show'...THEY DON'T !

Joshua if he fights an immediate rematch probably losers it and two losses to an average/decent fighter like Ruiz is really at elite level show over.

If Joshua were to win a rematch it doesn't make him a bigger star.It makes him less marketable .As people and fans alike now know he has bad vulnerabilities and is less likely to achieve at top level in the fights that were being mooted for him.

No, it'll just put him in line again to get his head taken off by Wilder.

Only the Hearn hedgmony in the UK is dead. Maybe the fairy tale paydays are gone too, but that was a UK phenomena. Wilder gets minimum wage in comparison. The world will still spin. If the heavyweights are dead, AJ was already a mummy.

In all honesty, if a guy is too fast for you, there isn't anything you can do about it. If he is too fast and you don't have the timing, you are going to lose.

Ruiz is too fast, and Joshua's size worked against him. His size made him to slow to react to speed like that. Ruiz is MUCH fast than anyone Joshua has ever faced.

Joshua wasn't even really jabbing lazy, but Ruiz was still able to get in the left hook right hand before Joshua could even get the jab back to his face.

Whats he going to do in the rematch? Jab at Ruiz? Thats what got him knocked down.

Its just a bad matchup. They would need to pull a SRL, and have private detectives following Ruiz, and set up the fight for when he is horrifyingly unprepared, while they had already been in camp for it.

Good post. I've always known Joshua as the Mummy. Nice guy but not cut for this kinda thing.

Eddie Hearn: "Last night I saw I guy I knew wanted the belts back. This morning I saw a guy where that was the only thing on his mind, to become heavyweight champion of the world again."

Yes, Eddie and on June 1, we all saw a guy who had mentally quit and ready to give his belts away.

I like AJ and respect him as a boxer. I still think he is a top-level contender and will definitely rise again to re-gain the belts. I see him above other HWs save for Wilder and Fury which will be more competitive and can go either way. But the last thing this guy needs is Eddie going around and putting more pressure on him than he already has.

                    That’s a big “if” though

Joshua is gonna have to sort his stamina out sharpish and stick to a game plan

                    Make or break fight
