    Did you guys not read:

Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather's adviser, confirmed that talks have taken place, but the talks were preliminary and although Cunningham wants Spinks to be the opponent for November 4, he would likely be Mayweather's opponent for his next pay-per-view which is scheduled on February 24.

Ellerbe is saying that it's probably going to be for February, not November.

And if Margarito is still around by then which i doubt because he will lose by then if he fights anyone good, then Mayweather can fight him.
There is a massive amount of hate for Spinks on this forum.Probadly because of the way he fights.Similiar to all the Chris Byrd hate. They just won't give the man his due. Most predicted he would get knocked out by Karmazin in a few rounds(LOL).Never underestimate a slick boxer against a puncher.

then Hatton whenever he wants to do it and RETIRE UNDEFEATED
Sounds good to me. Now send that little list over to my man PBF.

I didn't hate Spinks until I saw the Karmazin fight. Its totally unacceptable for a boxer to run around the ring even if he thinks he has won the fight. That is simply cowardly and I don't watch boxing to see cowards. Spinks should learn something from Fernando Vargas... sometimes you gain more respect for losing like a man than winning like a coward.

I'm not a Spinks fan at all, but with all due respect I'm not sure I would want my guy..whoever that is to learn anything from Vargas. Sure he has tremendous fighting heart, but in my estimation he is a punk with very little class. I very much enjoyed watching DeLaHoya and Mosely shut his big mouth.

I don't really like it either. But that's boxing for you.Why should Cory ruin future paydays for the sake of being macho? Some fighters are brawlers and some are boxers.Cory is a boxer. He is aware of his limitations in the brawling category.

mayweather says margarito is at the bottom of his list and won't generate pay per view numbers. I know for a fact that mayweather is scared of margarito because against cory spinks is gonna generate less numbers

I have no problems with this fight in FEB, as Mayweather's advisor says. Mayweather should fight Tony at 147 first though. Spinks is very dangerous for Floyd with his size and speed, and particularly his style. I'm not sure why Floyd would take that fight, but I see it as a good challenge.

His boxing career will now revolve on keeping that record undefeated until he faces Oscar.
You think he's just taking an safer road? Thats pretty much ducking my friend, cause fighting Margarito isn't the easy road.
