When you talk about DLH's career, you gotta realize the caliber of fighters he faced and the fact that he helped bring lighter weights to the mainstream.
He accomplished so much in many different weight classes.
And two of those L's shouldnt be on his record.

Delahoya will have the better career in the general public and alot of boxing fans because of his celebrity status , ring record and quality of opponents.

Real Boxing purists will probably realize that Erik Morales is the real fighting warrior between the two. His record and wars speak for itself. Most people and the general public havent got a clue who Morales is. Everybody knows Oscar. I say Oscar but IMO Morales is the peoples warrior.

I personally think Morales, and by alot. Sure, De La Hoya's won some titles in more divisions, but didn't assert himself as a great definitively . Morales has been more dominant and revered because of his toughness, that never was in question, and how he eminates greatness. De La Hoya has always been more celebrity than fighter. Morales had the trilogy with Barrera, Pacquiao, wars with Chavez and McCullough.

De La Hoya beat Whitaker and Quartey, but the decisions were close. His only two impressive big wins were Vargas and Mayorga, those aren't the guys you want defining your career. Morales is great, De La Hoya MIGHT be great.
