    Ruiz has a 30 win, one loss resume and by all accounts he's takented. That's usually enough to grab attention.

      Yeah i think ruiz of course was deserving of top ten but just underestimated.
      I'm sure there's lots deserving of top ten and some in top ten right now who arent. jarrel miller for starters im not sure about.

        Charr would've been a horrendous opponent. Ruiz was one of the only acceptable choices. Hearn probably wishes he put Whyte in there instead but that's hindsight. Beforehand Ruiz was seen as having less chance. Ruiz wasn't a big name but more marketable than Trevor Bryan, and when you're supposed to be #1 in the division you shouldn't need to be that selective about which guys ranked out the top 10 are too dangerous to pick.
