Alvarez, Sanchez and Napoles are clearly not the same ethnic group as Ruiz.
You can play semantics all you want. But Ruiz is Messy'can. Sal and Saul are White. Napoles is Black. White people are all over the globe. Blacks are a less common globaly, but still more common than Mestizos. Mestizos are only in Latin America. So Ruiz is special to you people.
I get it. they're from your country. you can be proud of that. But that's kinda like English people taking pride in Joshua or Lewis. Or White Americans taking pride in Ali or Robinson.
There's lots of great White athletes. In fact, almost all the best athletes are White. By a landslide. Blacks are probably more numerous as athletes, but on the whole not quite as talented; not in the positions that matter, at least. Mestizos are pretty much none existent as athletes. Who you got, Tony Romo? What Ruiz did was huge for his people. Semantics can't undo that.
